Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

Oh! Is that...some kind of record?

[His time period is hella vague but the last attempted assassination was in like, the 80s, so.]

[ Eurydice offers it to the Balladeer. ]

But I don't see any kind of a record player. [ There is a thing with a bunch of buttons, but Eurydice has no clue what it does. ]

Oh, I think that's a boombox! They play cassettes. Not...sure where they go...

[Like, probably it's a boombox? He doesn't know, but he crouches down to look at it anyway. Poke, poke. He opens the the lid of the CD player.]

It opens!

[ Boom......box...........

That sounds dangerous, but this guy seems like he knows what he's doing. Eurydice will defer to him.

Once he gets the lid open, Eurydice comes closer and places the small disk into the little slot. ]

Huh. I guess you press a button to start it?

Guess so.

[LET'S PRESS IT!

The Balladeer raises his eyebrows at this.]

Huh. ABBA.

[ The music starts right up and Eurydice practically jumps out of her skin. This is the peppiest song she's ever heard.

Then she settles into the beat and relaxes a little. ]

Wow. Alright. Never heard ABBA before, but she... [ what? to say about this??? ] ...really likes this guy, I guess.

[ It feels kind of cheesy. Despite marrying Orpheus ridiculously quickly, Eurydice is definitely a skeptic about this sort of thing. ]

[The Balladeer cocks his head a little. Love songs in general are not his forte, he's more of a murder ballads guy historically. But he prefers to be positive about other peoples' work!]

I like that it's upbeat! Maybe that's why it's in here, for dancing?

[Granted, this seems like a ballet room, so he's not too sure how that fits in. Buuuuuuut let's see what else is on here! He skips to the next track!]

[ The Balladeer is a good guy with good takes!

Eurydice gets the point about dancing, though. It's kind of like when Persephone comes to town. Except without the actual, material benefits.

The next song is definitely something Eurydice can relate to more. Gods, she'd like to be rich. Must be nice. A little more positively: ]

Yeah, alright. Not bad.

[ Eurydice shuffles over and once again skips to the next song. This time, she starts snapping her fingers and tapping her feet in rhythm. It looks like she's starting to enjoy herself. Nice! ]

[Agreed! The Balladeer smiles and taps his toes a little as well. He doesn't always get a chance to dance, but he enjoys it when he does!]
