Week One
[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?
Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.
If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

(( OOC: This will be the last mod post for this week! Feel free to start submitting regains for any threads that aren't with Hester. Remember, song threads mean an extra coin! This is a peace week, so get all that CR while you can! ))

[ Which is ultimately cheaper than paying for fuel for lamps, but still pretty expensive. There's a reason pretty much it and the train station are the only buildings in town wired up like that. ]
This place is - really strange. I mean besides being stuck here, and the, uh. Murder stuff. Did you look at the books that showed up in everyone's trunks? There's photographs printed in them, and they're all colorized, too. [ Nevermind that he doesn't remember his or Eurydice's photograph being taken, ever. ] And they have all this food, and no one seems to think that's weird either. I think I saw chocolate in one of the cupboards?
[ How do they afford all this? ]
no subject
[ Eurydice cannot imagine seeing chocolate and just walking right on by. It's been so long since she's had anything that sweet.
Eurydice starts grabbing a few random items from the fridge -- not too much though, because it won't keep. ]
Maybe the Wizard's paying for it. He must be rich. And powerful. [ Eurydice's tone goes dark, and she thinks quietly to herself for a moment. ] We don't know nearly enough about this place, or the people in it. You're keeping your distance, right?
[ Trusting people with an incentive to murder seems like a bad, bad idea. ]

I guess he must be? Do you think he's a god? You saw what happened with the knife the purple girl threw at Miss Hester, right? [ It was kind of hard to miss, what with the earthquake and all. ] From who, everyone? I think they're all just as confused as we are. Mostly.
[ Who knows what's up with the Balladeer. ]
no subject
Probably. That's not something humans can do. [ Best to stay on their good side.
Of course Orpheus isn't as wary of the others as she is. It's charming, but that also worries Eurydice, a little. What if the purple girl turns her knife on him? ]
Any of them could kill us. I'm not saying they would, just -- be careful.

Okay. [ he says, seriously. He doesn't... really know how to put distance between himself and others, being the type to sort of jump into friendship or at least assuming friendship with people from the word go, but he'll try his best. Eurydice is better under pressure than he is, and he trusts her to know what she's talking about. ]
At least this place isn't so bad? I don't think I like it here, but there's food, and it's warm, and most people are nice. [ With a few notable exceptions. Overall they could be trapped somewhere much worse. ]
cw: food insecurity mentions
Most people? Who's not nice?

The purple girl with the knife kind of scares me? [ He says. ] I think she was just trying to get us out of here, but...
[ That's... being kind of generous when it comes to assessing her motivations, but Orpheus tries to see the best in people. ]
And I don't really know what to make of Miss Hester, either. She seems to really think she's helping us, but saying all of that stuff about murder without - it's like she didn't think it was weird at all.
no subject
[ And kind of stupid, for throwing knives at authority figures. ]
Miss Hester doesn't make any sense. I think she could probably get us some decent information, but I don't think we can trust her. Have you spoken with her since she met us?
no subject
And no, I haven't. I'm not sure what I'd ask her? I don't really understand any of this, and it's hard to figure out where to start. What do you think? About what we should try to get her to tell us, and how. Everyone tried asking why we were here already, and that didn't seem to work very well.
