Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

[From what he last remembers, the catastrophe with the boilers did at least happen, so like...that's what he assumes she's referring to. Not much worse things he could have come up with.

[She laughs at the thought. Honestly, just imagining her father trying to send her to music lessons - a soldier brat, like her - is deeply amusing in the moment.]

My dad wanted me to stay safe by doing castle stuff. You know, needlework, laundry, gala preparations?

How did you put up with all of that without losing your mind?

[The sarcasm is palpable, but... she knows Varian gets it. He's seen just how hard she has to work to get a chance at what she really wants to do.]

...Honestly? I just stayed focused; I thought ahead to the moment I'd finally get to join the royal guard, and show my dad just how much I've learned from him. [She smiles just slightly.] I'd prove to him how much he can trust me by handling anything that's thrown my way.

That's definitely a motivator for sure. And I mean, look at you now! I think he's got more than enough proof that you've earned a place among the guard.
