[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

[Ah, yes. Maya's home away from home. She'd stepped away for a time to get some water and practice her vocals, but now she's back to end the day.

Or... would like to. Except someone else is in here and apparently enjoying herself?

Quietly, Maya clears her throat.]

Do you mind if I practice over there?

[She points to a corner.]

[Oh no. She's been caught feeling the beat to the tambourine. She's been caught jiving. And Dancing.

Quick, act cool. Farrah reacts by freezing completely, like an animal in headlights. Okay, Farrah, Assess the situation. How do you recover from this?

She opts for laughter]

Oh! Yeah, I was just--- fooling around, nothing serious. I was just about to go, actually--

You don't have to.

[Maya doesn't even blink at her behavior. She makes her way to a corner of the room and begins stretching herself back out. Honestly, she hardly spares much attention.]

I'm used to sharing a studio.

[brokeforgood]

[Well, at least that's familiar. Maybe a little painful, but less painful than if Maya had recognized her from the internet.]

Uh, yeah. Are you a dancer, then?

[mayavericks]

I am.

[She stretches out one leg against the bar, and then the other.]

I am studying at Seisho Music Academy currently. Perhaps you've heard of it?

No. [She's blunt. Then realizes how rude it is, and averts her eyes.]

But-- I didn't pay attention to schools, or anything like that, for a while. I'm at a private school, but it's only because the guy my mom hooked up with had a daughter at some stuck up school--- Uh, not that private schools are all stuck up-- [Farrah=Foot=Mouth]

[mayavericks]

[At that, she cracks a faint smile.]

Most are, though.

[Seisho isn't that bad, But Maya? Maya is.]

You don't sound fond of your situation.

[brokeforgood]

[Farrah offers a meek shrug of her shoulders, in response to that.]

It's fine. No one really likes me there. But you can't blame them, they're all like, rich. And happy.

[mayavericks]

I don't see how one's happiness should mean that they dislike someone else?

[brokeforgood]

They'll hate anyone who sticks up and ruins their perfect reality. [Farrah, for what it's worth, at least doesn't seem upset? She just shrugs.]

[mayavericks]

You almost make it sound like this school is a pleasant reprieve.

[brokeforgood]

That's sad, right? It's sad.

[mayavericks]

It's concerning that a place apparently designed to force us to kill would be a safe haven, to say the least.

[Is the USA alright....?]

[brokeforgood]

Yeah, I'm still not sold that's what this is all about. Do you really think they'd let us kill someone or be killed? That's insane.

[mayavericks]

[Really, Farrah? Maya gives her a flat look.]

More or less insane than kidnapping us?

[brokeforgood]

More! [Farrah's giving her a look right back, though it's much less flat.]

Murder is a step up from kidnapping!

You have to admit that the escalation is hardly surprising.

Regardless, the choice has been left in our hands, rather than theirs. So long as we continue to cooperate, we should see no issues.

[brokeforgood]

I D K [She pronounces it Eye-Dee-Kay, verbally.] I'm not a criminal, I don't know how that stuff works. It seems extra, either way.

Even if it is a kidnapping, I'm sure it'll work out. My family has cash for the ransom.

[mayavericks]

[Maya blinks a few times, parsing out what she's saying. It's weird hearing it spelled out in English. Or. Whatever language she's hearing. Universal translators are wild.]

I am much the same. But... I cannot help but worry for the others, if that is what they are after.

[Surely not everyone is rich.]

Yeah. You're... right about that. [She slumps a little, discouraged.]

They'd have to let us all out, right? [Now she's just. Really being hopeful.]

Would your parents pay to free random strangers?

Maybe if it could be a tax write-off. [hey at least shes..... honest?]
