Week One
[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?
Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.
If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]
Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday
(( OOC: This will be the last mod post for this week! Feel free to start submitting regains for any threads that aren't with Hester. Remember, song threads mean an extra coin! This is a peace week, so get all that CR while you can! ))

For Salieri specifically - accidental auditions
Gold is the color of my true love's hair,
Her face so soft and wondrous fair,
The purest eyes and the gentlest hands,
I love the ground whereon she stands...

He turns down the hallway towards the costume room, approaching slowly so as not to disturb whomever is singing. It's a truly beautiful voice, rich and dark, and Salieri cautiously peeks into the room, doing his best not to draw attention to himself just yet.
To say that he is startled to see Monsieur Barker there is an understatement. It's a wonderfully pleasant surprise, and he's loathe to distract him and perhaps stop this impromptu performance. Instead, he settles half in the doorframe so he's not...hiding precisely. But he's not easily seen either.
And for a moment, he just...listens, letting the gentle, deep melody wash over him, the rumble of the deeper bass notes feeling like they gently rattle something in his chest in a very pleasant, moving way]

I love the ground on which she goes
And still I hope that the time will come...
[He uses a comb to separate the top half of the blonde wig, and pulls it tightly up, bending the tail in half and tying a ribbon tightly around to cinch the bun into place.]
Still I hope that the time will come,
When she and I will be as one...
[He takes the sides of the hair and twists them lightly, to create a different texture, pulling them back and carefully threading them through the same ribbon as the bun so that they hang down with the tail.]
When she and I will be as one...
[As he turns around to fetch the unfamiliar curling iron from where he'd laid it, the last low note still live in the air, he sees Salieri in the doorway and startles.]
Oh! Maestro. You caught me by surprise. How can I help you?

Ah, Monsieur Barker, forgive me...I was just on my way back to the Choir Room, however...I couldn't help but overhear your singing. It caught my ear in the most pleasant manner. [he looks a little embarrassed] I hope you don't mind.

Oh... Well, thank you, Mr. Salieri, that's high praise from a man of your calling.

I'd never thought of it before. I haven't studied music - I'm afraid I don't know how I'd read it, if I did.
[But that's not necessarily a 'no.']

Perhaps we could meet in the choir room later to start work on it?
