week 1
[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, youβre all going to be stuck here.
You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!
The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.
Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.
Enjoy your first week, everyone.]

(( OOC: This will be the last mod post for this week! Feel free to start submitting regains for any threads that aren't with the Phantom. Remember, song threads mean an extra coin! This is a peace week, so get all that CR while you can! ))

[ She moves and reaches for her other foot. ]
I go to a school that specializes in music theatre. In the acting division we tend to have dance classes every day, so mornings usually start with all of Class A practicing together.

And then we put all our skills together to make a fantastic show at every school festival to show how we've improved.

How many plays do you do a year? That's already amazing... You write your own? And...stage fighting? Oh, all the school plays I've seen have been so underwhelming, but I bet not yours.

Mmm, that depends. In our first year we didn't do too many, since we were still learning, but we did do a few.
Most of our focus though was on "Starlight".

Well, it's an old tale... set in the small village of a small country of a faraway star. Two girls named Claire and Flora meet and become friends at the village's annual summer Star Festival.
[ Nana stands at that point and starts to work on some arm stretches as she continues. ]
They make a promise to meet again next year, but when they do Flora discovers that Claire lost her memory in an accident on her way home from the last festival. Wanting to return Claire's memories the two decide to try and climb the Tower to the Star, so they may grasp the stars and wish for Claire's memories back. But to make it to the top they must overcome the eight sinful goddesses confined within...
[ And then getting into a ballet position, Nana starts to sing and dance: ]
If you gather a small star,
You will seize a small amount of happiness.
If you gather a large star,
You will seize a large amount of wealth.
If you gather them both,
You will seize an eternal wish...
[ She pirouettes over before stopping in front of Riley and outstretching her hand to her, in case she'd also like to stand. ]
"And it shall be bestowed upon you, the star which you have longed for..."
That's the gist of it anyway!

Like a fist around her heart, Riley feels her chest grow tight. It's just for a moment. But she finds herself remembering a long-ago day in the rain, crying loudly; she finds herself thinking about what felt like an eternity in a hospital room, stubbornly refusing to go home. She...finds herself missing those times.
She's a bit lost, when Nana's hand reaches out to her. Almost automatically, she takes it. Her bright, melodic voice is soft as she stands. ]
It sounds lovely. I wish I could see it.

Maybe you can if we ever get out of here. We actually put it on every year-- the idea is that each year we can show our growth as students by improving the production every time. It's kind of like... a final exam that way?

Every year? So everyone can put their own...unique touch on it?

Though honestly if you ask me I think it'll be hard to top the very first performance. It was something... really special.
