[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, you’re all going to be stuck here.

You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!

The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.

Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.

Lightning? Why, that's remarkable! Then it isn't fire at all? But it's so hot to the touch!

[It's actually more Golden Compass. Not that Jeremy knows that from the title alone.]

[Ariel laughs, which really is nothing more than a scoff.]

Stephen, my friend, I fear these subjects are one in the same. [A shrug.] What did you discover, then?

[Blink. So that means Ariel found them too. Stephen's a smart man; he can connect the dots. He looks from the wine to Ariel to around the rest of the room, briefly pressing his lips together before continuing;]

Couple odd things. More duct tape, some tiny binoculars- not sure what to do with the mask or jacket, though. Might give the teddy bear to one of the kids, after I throw it in the washer.

The Phantom. [There's a dryness in his voice. He looks toward the mirror, makes a face, and then quickly looks away.]

I'd much rather not find him lurking about, if you ask me. But I would hate to distract you from such an important search.

[Is this an out from these lessons? He'll take it.]

Not fire -- or perhaps not just fire. I imagine if lightning can set fire to a tree, it could be the cause of some sort of fire here.

[He shakes his head quickly, almost looking offended.]

Pursuits of knowledge are of the utmost importance to me. I would never joke about it

I'm not really tired, so I assume I slept. [That could also be the coffee he drank before Christine took it from him.] I dunno, I'll probably take a nap later but not right now.

[Ariel blinks right back, almost in slow motion. He's trying to process the list, which is all the more harder when he isn't entirely sure what a good portion of what the objects are, or at least what they could be used for.]

I found a feather. [He blurts it out, blinks one more time when he realizes that he'd actually spoken, and then shrugs.] Damnable thing.

[He's more or less just trying to see if he'll be talking or listening tonight. Or both? If one is needed more than the other- and there Ariel goes, prompted to talk. He nods slightly, gently pressing for more.]

What kind of feather?

Well, as long as you are certain. Rest will do your body good, especially when one's mind is reeling. [He motions about the room.] And it certainly is doing just that.

In any case. We need everyone in good health if we are to beat whatever game this is and get back to where we must be.

[Angus hopes that a basic explanation will be enough to satisfy the king.]

They are very, very small tunnels, about this size [He makes a circle with his fingers.] made of metal. With the power of mechanisms, they transport water from one place to another, like a sink, or a shower.

[Glances at the toilet.] What did you flush down there?

[They are men of science. There is no way to convey what he thinks this is, not without discrediting his entire image. There's no way to not sound paranoid, especially not when these dreams have plagued him at his most inebriated.

Which... really wouldn't go over well now, all things considered.

But where words fail him... song does not. And so, the warbling lyrics begin to fill the air.]

[It speaks to the strangeness of the situation that Stephen doesn't find the sudden signing strange. It's almost like Ariel is...releasing something. Needed?

Unlike before, though, he doesn't join in the song. His fingers tap unconsciously, but- after a moment, all he does is reach for the bottle with a brief questioning glance back at Ariel.

Jeremy! Come on! Don't, you don't have to say 'kidnapped.' That's not what's happening here.

[It's not. She refuses to even entertain the idea.]

There's some explanation for this. Maybe he's not a good guy, but he can't be completely merciless! There has to be a way to reason with him! There has to!

[Because if there isn't another explanation, and if he truly has kidnapped him... then that means the rules on the wall are true too, and then that means...

She looks very pale.]

[She looks between him and the mirror, obviously hesitant.]

Well... do you think it would be worse to open the mirror and find him back there, or just leave it sealed and imagine he might be back there? It's... like Schroedinger's Phantom.

[The sheets here are perfectly made! There's no sign of use here.

Unlike in Room #5, a set of envelopes, wax, and monogrammed seal has been provided in the drawers. The letter on the seal is M. There seems to be nothing amiss in the bathroom, and nothing in the drawers that you wouldn't find in your own.]

[Huh. Does anyone here have an M name? McFife? That doesn't seem right. She takes the seal, though, and then approaches the mirror again. It's time to open another passageway! One of them has to go somewhere.]

[Well, you've already opened up one mirror, so we can probably take it for granted that you're able to open this one.

This time the brick wall is much closer to the entrance.]

[Oh man, no. Bad, actually. He forgot he's also trying to, uh. Spare Christine.]

I mean - he did say we're supposed to write him letters. Maybe, uh. Maybe if we all become his penpal he'll like. Darth Vader it?

[He sounds super unsure about that but. It's the best he's got.]

Have you, like, found anything? I looked around my room a little, but I haven't really investigated anywhere else.

[He'll get into point and click video game mode eventually, but for right now he's 100% just screaming internally all the time. There's! A! Lot! Going! On!]

[Part of Jeremy: delighted with the property damage going on here. The rest of Jeremy: horrified, because oh god everything is gonna flood.]

Ohhhhh my goooooood. I don't want to be James Silenthill! [Why him.] You gotta, you gotta take the apple out, dude! It's gonna flood the whole place!

[Extremely! Nervous! Laughter!]

Soda, uh. Soda might be worse, actually.

[It's barely been one whole days and already someone's screaming? Dare to investigate what could possibly be causing such an occurance?

Well you won't have to. Because the door to Room 15 is kicked open in the early morning, and out runs Spinel, looking for all the world like she's seeing a ghost; just a mess of flailing limbs that fumbles over herself onto the floor.
