[Six weeks later, and eleven performers remain.

The opera house is much the same when Monday morning dawns this week. It seems you've truly gone as high as you can go - there is no fifth floor, and no sign of any other new areas. The air has grown colder, like perhaps someone failed to adjust the heating for the winter weather that's supposedly happening just outside. Javert and Astarte's stars are still firmly affixed to their doors; it seems you might have to try a little harder to learn their secrets.

[Looking at the spam pie, deeply skeptical as usual.]

What is it this time?

A pie, of sorts! [Though it reminds him strongly of making quiche...] It is made with some sort of canned meat that I can only assume is pork, but given a funny name so as to sell it.

...Are you talking about spam? Oh my god, you discovered spam. That's amazing.

Yes, that's what the packaging and the recipe called it. [What is this reaction though.] Is it...more remarkable than it appeared?

It's not even that good, it's just like... Iconic. I don't how to explain it.

...What does it taste like?

It's really salty? And kind of squishy.

[Extremely enlightening.]

That is...exactly how it smells and feels. What does it taste like?

[Be a little more concrete than that come on]

Like incredibly salty and weird pork? I'm pretty sure it's pork. It might be beef, I don't know.

It is pink like pork. Why would it not be pork in the first place?

[Unless there's some weird future animal people kill and eat]

I don't know, but it doesn't completely taste like pork, so I'm calling shenanigans on it.

...I am starting to wish I had not used this "Spam" in the first place.

I have to find something to be happy about here. Nothing personal.

Rest assured, anyone else who's trying spam for the first time will be just as teased as you have been.

Is it truly so vile? Why in the world would the cookbook I found use it so often if no one actually wanted to eat it?

I mean... Can you honestly say the sandwich cake thing was a culinary masterpiece? Also, I guess it's like Twinkies. Some people like them even if they're horrifying.

I thought it tasted fine, and looked rather interesting. This is quite literally meat that has been turned into a...a slime.

...What is a Twinkie?

Yeah, that is a pretty accurate description.

[Hm.]

A twinkie is like... A pastry is a nicer name than it deserves, but kind of like that, except disgusting.

[dechagny]

What exactly makes it disgusting, though?

[In his experience pastries are pretty cool]

It's really greasy and fatty and poorly made, basically.

[dechagny]

...That does not sound like a pastry of any level.

[robitussin]

Pastry is the only thing I can kind of justify comparing it to? It's kind of in a category all of it's own.
