WEEK 6
[Six weeks later, and eleven performers remain.
The opera house is much the same when Monday morning dawns this week. It seems you've truly gone as high as you can go - there is no fifth floor, and no sign of any other new areas. The air has grown colder, like perhaps someone failed to adjust the heating for the winter weather that's supposedly happening just outside. Javert and Astarte's stars are still firmly affixed to their doors; it seems you might have to try a little harder to learn their secrets.
Things seem to be building. Have a good week, everyone.]
[ooc: don't forget to submit your memories and check into the roll call!]

Ah. I...don't know. Those...memories that come to us...mine is...even more confusing than the last.
[Quietly prods at a piece of spam.]
no subject
Do you want to talk about it? I understand if you don't, but maybe it could help?
no subject
I don't mind. Perhaps - yes, perhaps talking it out will make things clearer. That is, if you don't mind listening.

[Best case scenario they can rant about this shitty "Angel of Music" guy again.]
cw: watching a dude get murdered
It began as a worrying memory. Christine...she was frightened, and for good reason. There have been rumors, back home, of a..."Phantom" who haunts the opera house, causing accidents. He made demands of the newest production that the management - not this management - went against, and he retaliated by disrupting the performance. Even after everything was in upheaval and we'd bent to his will, it seemed...
[Raoul pauses, shakes his head.] I do not know if it was merely an accident of if this Phantom had a hand in it, but the house's Chief of the Flies...he was hanged, dropped down to dangle above the stage. Christine was certain it was the Phantom's doing. I tried...I tried to tell her it could only be an accident, that such a being was the thing of dreams, but she was so insistent, so frightened, I...
[Another pause. He rubs the back of his neck idly, remembering the rawness, the bruise. But...]
I told her I would protect her. So long as I was with her, I would, and...I told her I loved her. We kissed, we were in high spirits - it was as if light and life had returned to her eyes, Seymour! How could such a pure reaction come from a woman who would kiss another while I struggled to survive?
no subject
Wow, at... at least you're willing to protect the ones you love? It's very noble of you.
[Seymour would have said that he didn't think he could do something like that in a similar situation, but, well...]
Wait, she kissed someone while you almost died?
no subject
Er...yes. An incredibly grotesque looking man, at that, and I haven't a clue as to why, especially if...[He looks sad suddenly, pensive.] Especially if she had been sincere upon the roof.
no subject
If she seemed like she loved you, it feels weird that she would want to kiss a murderer ... Maybe she didn't have a choice to kiss him?
[He is 100% projecting here.]

[Seymour no.]
I might be able to wing a song if you're not opposed
Christine? No...even if she were to believe it, I know I could show her the truth. She is wonderful...bright, talented, a shining star upon the stage even when she does not speak. Why, if I had the chance, I could show her that easily!
[But what chances did he even have? Clearly if he ends up hanging in a dank and awful place, he done fucked up, right?]
Go for it!
[He hopes he does. This phantom guy sounds like a huge creeper and Raoul is such a nice guy.]
haaah yay ty
Oh, I will, have no doubts about it. Why, I could...
[...Is that the swell of music?]
I could show her the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
I would give her a new life
One where she lets her heart decide
I would open her eyes
Lead her out of the darkness
Guarding her against danger
As we dance into the light
A whole new world
A grand, fantastic point of view
No one to haunt her dreams
No man unseen
To taunt her or to frighten
[Seymour stop him before he goes on, or join in, whatever you want bro]
