week 4, wednesday - time for a meeting!

[Now that two murders have occurred, most everyone is probably eager to prevent another death from occurring. It's a good idea to share information as well, so now, it's time for another group meeting! Earlier in the day, Natalie goes around and lets everyone know that there's going to be another discussion in the dining hall during the afternoon. She won't force anyone to come if they don't want to, but she at least makes sure to inform everyone she can find.

Once everyone is present, she raises her voice, making sure that she's heard.]

Okay, let's get this show on the road. It's been a while since all of us have had a discussion as a group other than during trials, so let's do that again. If there's anything you want to bring up, definitely go for it. We should figure out as much as we can while we're here.

BUDDY SYSTEM

[She called everyone here, so she figures she should start. She takes a breath.]

So... It's pretty obvious that what we're doing isn't working. Being vigilant is great and all, but it didn't help Valjean or Hime. So... What if we use a buddy system. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically when you stick close to someone to keep both of you safe. If everyone else wants to do this, I'm going to suggest that we have a list somewhere of which people are partnered together in case something happens. It could at least help with verifying alibis if it comes to that.

If anyone has any opinions or suggestions, I'd like to hear it.

Oh my god, that sounds like fun! [Yeah, lets be real, Heather misses the opportunity to follow someone around like a puppy dog. ] Would we like, swap off?

My thought was to go with whoever you trusted most and stick with them, unless you want to switch at some point.

That makes sense. Maybe we can draw by lot or...pick our own partners?

I think picking your own partners would make more sense... That way everyone can get someone they trust, which is less likely to result in stabbing? Probably.

That might not be a bad idea, actually. Then even if someone dies there could be clues by their buddies. Both from the victim and the culprit.

[A buddy system sounds like a really good thing. Seeing as Hime would have been her first choice along with Natalie, Anna's not sure what to do. One friend is dead, and if something happened to Natalie...]

I like that idea. I just don't know who would want to be paired with me. I'm kind of a klutz, and I'm pretty sure some people here probably don't like me very much.

[Yes. Even with friends she thinks rather lowly of herself.]

I do know how to fight, so maybe I'll be fine on my own?

[Sharing - yes, Raoul has already shared what he found with The Pirate King, but this could be important. He takes the note he found out to show the others.]

I found a curious note within one of the board game boxes in the Game Room on Monday. It seems to have been there for quite some time, too, and it contains one name, "Barr". I do not know if that is a nickname of some kind, but it indicates the presence of a writer, recipient, and "Barr" have either owned the board game before, or have been in this place before us.

[Seymour frowns at the note. He has no idea if this helped his theory whether they were actually in Hell or not, but oh well, a clue is a clue.]

I think... maybe something like this happened before? I don't know why they would get a second-hand game if they're able to afford all of this.

Could there be some kind of code to it? Perhaps the errors are intentional.

[She gives Natalie a quiet, apologetic look.]

I found a star and title on Gabriel's door from...I think a previous show. It looks like it was under Gabriel's the whole time.

[A star? A previous show? Oh no.]

...Did you look inside? Was there anything else there?

THE BALLADEER THO

So, I know all our conversations with the Balladeer usually happen one on one, but maybe we could share some of what we've learned from him?

[ Since they're bffs. ]

I'll start. Did you know that he had access to the other floors before we did? And it seems like whatever show he was in before, people often threatened to kill him...?

Well, I'd say they're within their rights to have a low opinion of him, given that he chose to be here, doing all this.

[Well Seymour certainly does not mind talking about the Balladeer.

And that threaten to kill him is pretty suspect.]

... Do you think the Balladeer is dead?

[Wait maybe he shouldn't just speculate with his "everyone is stuck in Hell" theory.]

He did seem surprised about the garden, even if he has been to the other floors before us. I think he said he was surprised "to see them put it up that fast".

He told me some stuff about management, too. Like, there are a lot of people involved, but only one person in charge of everything. He didn't tell me their name.

I knew about his previous shows. He also mentioned it was stage magic that brought all of us, including him, here.

[Not addressing Hans directly, Anna instead focuses on everyone else.]

When I went to see him to apologize-[For breaking some things and causing property damage]-he told me there's other people here. Not us, but people who work here. Whoever they are aren't supposed to come into our rooms, but when I admitted to breaking the walls... he sent someone in there to fix them! I never saw anyone else, so they have to have a way to get around that we don't know about.

We then talked about people he knew. A girl who loved a cult leader, someone charismatic who deserved to die, but he wasn't friends with any of them. We then talked about friends and how he really needed this job, and he's.... somewhat sure management doesn't want him dead?

[She doesn't feel like she's actually contributing much. Just what she knows.] And he agreed to be my friend, so whenever there's a party, I make sure to invite him like I promised.
