WEEK 4
[Another week has passed in the opera house and things are looking grim as ever. With Gabe and Hime gone, the performers are down to 16 of them.

On Monday, the opera house is still heavily decorated with a few new additions. There are more cottony cobwebs, a few small ghosts hanging from the ceiling made of cheesecloth, even more pumpkins here and there. A few more candy bowls have been set out in places like the dining room and a few others and only a few of them are only filled with candy corn. In the dressing rooms the stars on Gabe and Hime's doors have fallen off, leaving behind a patch of star-shaped wood slightly lighter than the rest of the doors on Hime's and a different star underneath on Gabe's.

Like the previous week, the door on in the second floor lobby is unlocked and a new floor is ready to be explored. Have a good week, everyone.]

[Natalie is browsing through the books on the shelves when she happens to glance over at Astarte, tilting her head.]

...Didn't think you were the supernatural romance type.

[Jez frowns at the book, in... she seems angry at it? Maybe? Something related to anger.]

I might be, if the supernatural romance made any sense. Her best friend girl is so cute and doesn't talk about how he's sometimes overcome by bloodlust and wants to kill her, why doesn't she just date her?

She's straight, she makes incredibly poor decisions, or both?

I thinks it's shaping up to be both. Hm.

Are all the protagonists of these kinds of books like this?

Can't say I've read any of them myself, but I'm going to guess that the answer is yes.

Blegh. And young adult romance sounded like such a promising combination of genre words, too.

[Pout.]

You should try Jane Austen. Still romance for the most part, but probably less unfortunate?

Oh yeah, I've heard of her! Thanks.

No, actually! If she's anywhere, she's up at the other place.

She might... still be alive? Dad doesn't like to talk about Jane Austen.

...The devil has a specific grudge against Jane Austen?

Yep. Hell's... weirder than you might think.

[robitussin]

I'm kind of seeing that. Speaking of which, I'm done with the questions, before this gets even more awkward and confusing.

Probably a good plan. No one needs too many Hell Spoilers.

Soooo, what do you want to talk about instead?

[aflatouttahell]

I dunno. Romance? Hell's most of what I know, unless you want to hold a whole conversation about stuffed animals.

[robitussin]

I... would not know very much about that, unfortunately.

[aflatouttahell]

Neither would I. That's... sort of part of why I was hoping books would tell me. Something a little less... Shakespearey than Shakespeare's stuff, you know?

[She frowns at the Old Plays section.]

And definitely not something called 'Tis Pity She's a Whore.

[robitussin]

Maybe you could ask someone who has a little more experience than either of us? And... Who doesn't use phrases like that, yeah.

[aflatouttahell]

Yeah. Not exactly... a lot of people here who jump out at me, but. I'll think about it.

In the meantime, though, is there anything you want to talk about? I'm honestly kind of boring, apart from the Hell thing. And I do want to get to know you better.

[robitussin]

...Oh.

[It seems like that surprises her; she hesitate for a few moments.]

Well, uh, what do you want to know?

[aflatouttahell]

I don't know! Anything you want to tell me. What's your life like away from here?

[robitussin]

Well, um... I wake up at seven, go to school, go to swim practice, practice piano, do my homework, probably eat at some point, study, do more homework, go to sleep at two or three if I'm lucky... Then go to sleep, wake up, rinse and repeat.
