WEEK 3

[The past weekend has been a difficult one. With Valjean's murder and D-ne's brutal execution the monotony has been broken and it can be said the show is finally and truly underway.

When the performers emerge from their rooms on Monday morning the decor of the opera house has changed. Not drastically but someone was busy during the night with some redecorating. There are cobwebs draped over nearly everything, some of them with tiny plastic spiders stuck in the cotton webbing, and pumpkins of various sizes on the floor and on the tables. Some of the walls have been adorned with cartoon-ish paper skeletons and scarecrows and in the ballroom a poseable plastic skeleton has been posed at the piano looking ready to play. Someone's even set a bowl of candy on the counter of the merch booth.

But that's not all. There's a light coming from the now open doorway in the lobby that had been previously locked for the past two weeks. This new floor is similarly decorated but why not go have a look and explore for yourself?

Despite their losses, the show must go on after all.

[The Pirate King has been doing his best not to let what happened over the weekend get to him, but that's a bit easier said than done. He tends to get pretty antsy the longer the days go on, so it's not surprising that he's decided to find someone to pester so he's not left alone with his thoughts. Our lucky winner today is Billy!! Congrats, Billy. You did it.

Billy's working on something though, and the Pirate King pauses for a moment while he considers whether or not to interrupt. Hahaha who are we kidding of course he's going to interrupt.]

What are you writing? Letters? I don't believe the Balladeer will send them out.
allicareabout: (INFORM Δ look if jesus christ had $5000)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be more surprised if he did.

[Oh, hey, you. He'll slide the sheet he was writing on under the others; seems it's private.]

It's not really a letter, just getting my thoughts organized, that's all.
catliketread: (☠ A FLY'S FOOT-FALL)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's interesting... But it's not worth prying, probably.]

I was writing letters to do just that, but I've had my doubts about giving them to be sent out.

[Mostly because he's concerned they'll just get passed along to management and they'll read his letters instead and that's just Weird.]
allicareabout: (TILT Δ okay but that's really dumb)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't trust that they'll get past whomever's running this place - I'd imagine there's too much we could say that they wouldn't like.
catliketread: (☠ TAKE ANOTHER STATION)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Precisely. Even if I was very careful with how I worded things, I'm certain they would be extra cautious. If they know how I talk to my crew, they might pick up on any inconsistencies that might mean more to my crew than it would to them.
allicareabout: (EHHH Δ it's not going to pay for itself)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Uh.]

Sure, if they care that much.

[I MEAN WE'LL FIND OUT VERY SHORTLY THAT THEY PROBABLY DO, BUT DETAILS.]
catliketread: (☠ WE NEVER SPEAK A WORD)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[HAHAHAHAHA HA HA HA FUCK]

Why wouldn't they? If my crew knew the circumstances of my kidnapping they would be here trying to break down the doors in a heartbeat!

...Though I'm admittedly not sure where we are, so that might pose a bit of a problem.
allicareabout: (INFORM Δ look if jesus christ had $5000)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
...I'd say so. Especially since there's a lot of...

[...]

We literally have people from the future. That also might be a complication.
catliketread: (☠ TAKE ANOTHER STATION)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the sort of thing I prefer not to think about, if I'm perfectly honest.

[LET'S NOT WITH ANY OF THAT]
allicareabout: (LEAN Δ they call it a royale with cheese)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't say I blame you, but it's something that should be considered anyway.

[...]

I'm sure we'll get answers eventually, anyway. They don't seem interested in keeping us forever, and if they really wanted us all dead we would have been a while ago.
catliketread: (☠ LET'S VARY PIRACY)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, exactly. We're here to put on a show for them and once we stop being entertaining, we'll most likely be let go.

[Hopefully. Hopefully this show doesn't end with rocks falling and everyone dying.]
allicareabout: (TILT Δ okay but that's really dumb)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[...See, that's the sort of thing we're not going to think about.]

Just be as boring as possible. I like that - it's as good a strategy as any, anyway.
catliketread: (☠ TRUCE TO NAVIGATION)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Precisely! It's exactly why I haven't been doing anything too interesting. I don't plan on it for the rest of this week either!

[look at that a convenient excuse for my hiatus this week!!]
allicareabout: (SHRUG Δ honey we're all half-centaur)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[masterfully done.]

I've mostly been keeping my head down, myself. It doesn't get you a lot of friends, but it doesn't get you too many enemies, either.

[...also people are kind of terrible for interacting with in the long-term, they get their feelings all over you.]
catliketread: (☠ A FLY'S FOOT-FALL)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
...That certainly is a valid tactic, and it's quite possibly the best one. I've never been the sort who is capable of sitting still for long, so it's not something I can employ, but I do respect it!

[...he is exactly the sort of person to get his feelings all over you run now]
allicareabout: (GENDO Δ get on the witness stand andy)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[...he made the mistake of not running earlier, something tells him that running now won't accomplish much other than making you think it's a good idea to give chase.]

I'm a lawyer. Most of what I do is tedious paperwork; you get used to sitting still when no one else around you seems to want to.
catliketread: (☠ WOULD BE DISTINCTLY HEARD)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[it's true, he'll think we're playing tag]

Well, that sort of skill certainly is useful here! I've been concerned about dying from boredom.

[...wince.]

Err, well, not dying... You know what I meant!
allicareabout: (EHHH Δ it's not going to pay for itself)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-01 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
...I'd have to wonder if we could put the management on trial for something like that.

[billy

billy no]
catliketread: (☠ TRUCE TO NAVIGATION)

[personal profile] catliketread 2016-11-01 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...Do you think we could? Not that I would be fine with dying for such a cause, of course, but...! If we were to put them on trial then perhaps we could escape here sooner!

[i am so sorry]
