week 3
[The past weekend has been a difficult one. With Valjean's murder and D-ne's brutal execution the monotony has been broken and it can be said the show is finally and truly underway.
When the performers emerge from their rooms on Monday morning the decor of the opera house has changed. Not drastically but someone was busy during the night with some redecorating. There are cobwebs draped over nearly everything, some of them with tiny plastic spiders stuck in the cotton webbing, and pumpkins of various sizes on the floor and on the tables. Some of the walls have been adorned with cartoon-ish paper skeletons and scarecrows and in the ballroom a poseable plastic skeleton has been posed at the piano looking ready to play. Someone's even set a bowl of candy on the counter of the merch booth.
But that's not all. There's a light coming from the now open doorway in the lobby that had been previously locked for the past two weeks. This new floor is similarly decorated but why not go have a look and explore for yourself?
Despite their losses, the show must go on after all.

Billy's working on something though, and the Pirate King pauses for a moment while he considers whether or not to interrupt. Hahaha who are we kidding of course he's going to interrupt.]
What are you writing? Letters? I don't believe the Balladeer will send them out.

[Oh, hey, you. He'll slide the sheet he was writing on under the others; seems it's private.]
It's not really a letter, just getting my thoughts organized, that's all.
no subject
I was writing letters to do just that, but I've had my doubts about giving them to be sent out.
[Mostly because he's concerned they'll just get passed along to management and they'll read his letters instead and that's just Weird.]

Sure, if they care that much.
[I MEAN WE'LL FIND OUT VERY SHORTLY THAT THEY PROBABLY DO, BUT DETAILS.]

Why wouldn't they? If my crew knew the circumstances of my kidnapping they would be here trying to break down the doors in a heartbeat!
...Though I'm admittedly not sure where we are, so that might pose a bit of a problem.

We literally have people from the future. That also might be a complication.

[LET'S NOT WITH ANY OF THAT]

I'm sure we'll get answers eventually, anyway. They don't seem interested in keeping us forever, and if they really wanted us all dead we would have been a while ago.

[Hopefully. Hopefully this show doesn't end with rocks falling and everyone dying.]

Just be as boring as possible. I like that - it's as good a strategy as any, anyway.
no subject
[look at that a convenient excuse for my hiatus this week!!]

I've mostly been keeping my head down, myself. It doesn't get you a lot of friends, but it doesn't get you too many enemies, either.
[...also people are kind of terrible for interacting with in the long-term, they get their feelings all over you.]
no subject
[...he is exactly the sort of person to get his feelings all over you run now]

I'm a lawyer. Most of what I do is tedious paperwork; you get used to sitting still when no one else around you seems to want to.
no subject
Well, that sort of skill certainly is useful here! I've been concerned about dying from boredom.
[...wince.]
Err, well, not dying... You know what I meant!
