WEEK 3

[The past weekend has been a difficult one. With Valjean's murder and D-ne's brutal execution the monotony has been broken and it can be said the show is finally and truly underway.

When the performers emerge from their rooms on Monday morning the decor of the opera house has changed. Not drastically but someone was busy during the night with some redecorating. There are cobwebs draped over nearly everything, some of them with tiny plastic spiders stuck in the cotton webbing, and pumpkins of various sizes on the floor and on the tables. Some of the walls have been adorned with cartoon-ish paper skeletons and scarecrows and in the ballroom a poseable plastic skeleton has been posed at the piano looking ready to play. Someone's even set a bowl of candy on the counter of the merch booth.

But that's not all. There's a light coming from the now open doorway in the lobby that had been previously locked for the past two weeks. This new floor is similarly decorated but why not go have a look and explore for yourself?

Despite their losses, the show must go on after all.

[Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday]

[Siiiiiiiigh. Hime drags the whole pile out and starts checking the tags.] I don't even know what the little symbols mean. I didn't do the laundry at home.

[Billy's going to come over and start helping her check everything that's definitely not some kind of unmentionable.]

See, if this symbol here is empty then it's fine to go in the washer. A hand means to wash it by hand and an X means don't wash it. And this one here- if the circle is in a box, that means it's ok to use the dryer. An X means to hang it to dry, and no box means 'dry clean only.'

That's a lot of stuff to have to remember. [She starts putting things back in one at a time, though.] That symbol kind of looks like an iron, so it probably means you can iron it. What's the triangle with the X?

That means that you can't use bleach on it. Two slashes means color-safe bleach - I-I don't think we have any, but if you needed it the Balladeer could probably get some for you.
rockthistown: (stop playing with the thermostat)

It's scary to talk to him, though, right? I mean, he seems nice, but still! Plus I tried once and I think he just thought I was weird.

...I-I'm sure you could find someone who would ask for you.

Or just play it safe and not use any bleach, that's always an option too.
rockthistown: (nagisa hatedom's still around?)

[personal profile] rockthistown 2016-10-31 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. [sulk] How do people do all this laundry stuff all the time? I thought it must be really easy, but it's not.
inforapenny: (Laundry day see you there)

[personal profile] inforapenny 2016-10-31 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
[That actually makes him chuckle.]

That's why there's people who are paid to do it.
rockthistown: (blush blush blush)

[personal profile] rockthistown 2016-10-31 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
But lots of people don't have servants. They do all that stuff on their own.
inforapenny: (mumbling)

[personal profile] inforapenny 2016-10-31 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
You're right.

...Back home, I do my laundry in a laundromat, like this but with, uh. With windows. And, you know, more people.

...And these machines are a little bit nicer too.
rockthistown: (leave before they see us)

[personal profile] rockthistown 2016-10-31 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean everybody does their wash in the same place? Even if they don't live together? And everybody sees one another's underwear?
