WEEK 3
[The past weekend has been a difficult one. With Valjean's murder and D-ne's brutal execution the monotony has been broken and it can be said the show is finally and truly underway.

When the performers emerge from their rooms on Monday morning the decor of the opera house has changed. Not drastically but someone was busy during the night with some redecorating. There are cobwebs draped over nearly everything, some of them with tiny plastic spiders stuck in the cotton webbing, and pumpkins of various sizes on the floor and on the tables. Some of the walls have been adorned with cartoon-ish paper skeletons and scarecrows and in the ballroom a poseable plastic skeleton has been posed at the piano looking ready to play. Someone's even set a bowl of candy on the counter of the merch booth.

But that's not all. There's a light coming from the now open doorway in the lobby that had been previously locked for the past two weeks. This new floor is similarly decorated but why not go have a look and explore for yourself?

Despite their losses, the show must go on after all.

[What the fuck even is a PreCard]

That sort of thing is common in storybooks, Miss Hime...but then again, we are in a very unusual situation. Perhaps other things from storybooks might be plausible. Have you tried triggering a door to open by removing books from the shelves in that library?

How did you know that would work!?

[dechagny]

There are a fair amount of mystery novels which use such a plot device.

[They don't have TV where he's from what else is he supposed to do]

[rockthistown]

Really? I mean, yeah! I'm sure it'll work here too! Maybe. I hope.

[dechagny]

It's possible. This place seems to run on the improbably, at least.

[rockthistown]

Maybe we could try it! I mean, there are so many books, who knows where we'd end up?

[dechagny]

[Shrug, nod.]

If anything, it is worth a try. Why not?

[rockthistown]

[She gets up from her pew and bows towards the front of the chapel.] Okay! Then let's go to the library!

[dechagny]

[He gestures politely.] After you, Miss Hime.

[rockthistown]

[Hime hums happily and makes her way down to the library. She stares up at the sea of bookshelves.]

How do we know where to start?

[dechagny]

I don't think we could ever know - we just have to pull books from the shelves. But, if it does not work, it would be prudent if we returned them to the shelves as well.

[rockthistown]

Maybe like...

[Hime walks with purpose to one bookcase. She pulls out a book and swipes the books on that shelf to the right, then the books on the shelf below to the left, and finally pushing the books two shelves above that apart from the middle of the shelf. She looks extremely proud of herself.

Until nothing happens.]

[dechagny]

[...Slow...blinking...

Ahem.]

Well. It was certainly worth a try.

It seemed like the kind of thing that would work!

[dechagny]

It was certainly a good try, Miss Hime!

[rockthistown]

How do you think it should work?

[dechagny]

Er...well...perhaps the book that might activate a door...cannot come out entirely, if it is part of a mechanism? So we just have to pull books until one only comes out part-way.

[rockthistown]

Like it's attached to something? Okay!

[and then they wasted copious amounts of time]
