Week Five
[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!
Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!
Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.
Get to it, friends! I'm sure everything will be fine this week!]

(( Be sure to submit your memory regain and your AC for this week! As always, Hester's office hours and the merch booth remain available. ))

[Cassandra nearly bites her tongue as she looks up from her own misery to find standing there. In some ways, she's relieved that it was Elsa that found her here. Others didn't know quite as much about her as she did.
Still, on reflex, the mirror is shoved into Cass's chest. Her eyes dart away, searching for an answer.]
It's... Uh, a mirror. A magic mirror.

[She's heard of things like that, in fairy tales. They're usually ominous things; never evil themselves, but created or used by evil people. So if Cass is tampering with one... Elsa's going to worry. But she's very clearly worrying for Cass, not worrying about her.]
What was it showing you?

[There's no hiding it. But... Cass doesn't show Elsa the recording it contains. Not just yet. Cassandra only know how it works exactly due to seeing Eurydice fiddling with it back in Longacre. She had no idea these sorts of... "diaries" even existed.
Then again, there was a lot she doesn't know.]
My, uh... [No. She can't lie to Elsa. Elsa's worried enough about her.] It was showing me my mother.

She tries to school herself into an expression of neutrality, though. She can't let Cass clam up, when Elsa had worked so hard to help her open up to her these past few weeks.]
Is that... good? Or bad?
[She heard the words. It wasn't good at all. But... she has to help Cass through this, first and foremost. She can't let her own feelings get in the way.]

Do you want to see?
[It's not an answer to Elsa's question. In some way, Cass wants to avoid it... even if she knows denying it forever isn't an option.
But... the mirror is in her hands. If Elsa heard even part of it, then she should see it in its entirety. Especially if they're going to broach the topic.]

[She does want to see. Elsa won't lie. She wants to see the face of the woman who hurt Cass so terribly, and remember what she looks like, should she ever run into her.
She's dead, that's impossible a part of her brain says. But they know the dead can come back to life in this place. So it could possibly happen somewhere out in the wide world of their home.]
If you don't want to, that's okay. We don't have to talk about this ever again. But it's as I've said before. I'm here for you, always, and if you feel like you need to show someone else... I won't tell a soul.

She pats the space on the stairs beside her, gesturing for Elsa to sit. And when she does, she passes the mirror over.]
Just touch the glass and it will... show you.
