Week Five

[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!

Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!

Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.

[Farrah laughs at him, like the rude child she is, as she adjusts his hair. But then she pats his shoulder a few times, reassuringly.]

Don't be nervous! Listen to Spongebob! [She almost uses her newfound knowledge on his life to tease him, tell him he can't be nervous, he freakin' taught Beethoven. But then she opts for one better.]

Come on. If you could become my dad, you can face anything. Nothing is more terrifying than befriending an angry teen who shows up to auditions with plans to heckle your actors the whole time.

[Spongebob reaches over to pat Salieri's other shoulder.]

Or befriending a friendly but clingy invertebrate who still has a hard time believing you guys are actually humans!

[He grins.]

C'mon, if you can handle us, you can handle anything!

[Salieri can't help but chuckle, ruefully--shifting so he can put arms around both their shoulders, his expression softening]

For the record, I consider myself very lucky that I was given the opportunity to befriend you the both of you in the first place.

[he'll give them both a squeeze]

I love you both very much. Thank you for helping me with this.

[Farrah accepts the embrace, bottling down the emotions that arise in her stomach whenever she thinks about who else should be sharing that embrace right now. Now’s not a time to mourn. It’s a happy time. So she squeezes him back, and even gives him a quick kiss on the cheek, for good luck.]

[Spongebob eagerly embraces the both of them. Every hug Spongebob gives has the clinginess of someone who's getting their last hug ever. But lately, even more so.]

[he can't help but smile, then, a bit wider than his norm at the kiss on his cheek, at the strength of Spongebob's hug.

He's not sure he would call himself lucky considering the situation, but...he is grateful.

Salieri chuckles, squeezing them one more time before loosening his hold]

...alright. Alright, no more stalling. [he straightens, a bit] Are we about ready, then?

Yeah— All good here. Spongebob, you need anything else before I go grab him?

Only your swift return with Discord! I got it all covered back here!

[and there are those nerves again. But Salieri forces them down, squaring his shoulders a bit]

Then...let us proceed.

[Farrah gives Salieri a final pat on the shoulder, and Spongebob a final nod and thumbs up, before she bolts through the door, to go find Discord.

Which... When she finally does come across him, she's all out of breath, because she ran the whole way there.]

Discord!

[disharmonizes]

[Discord happens to be chilling in one of the hallways, currently reading, idly looking up at Farrah's sudden presence.]

The one and only.

...Am I missing a race or something?

[A race? What the hell. She just stares at him for a few seconds.]

What-- no? I need you to come with me, come on--- [She sounds urgent enough for it to be potentially worrying.]

[disharmonizes]

Well you're just in such a hurry, so--

[Just, squinting a little, because what.]

...Nothing's happened, right?

[brokeforgood]

Just come on! [She'll even make a grab for his wrist, to try and tug him up and along.]

[disharmonizes]

Ah-- Alright, fine, fine, if you insist.

[Welp guess he's following now? This may as well happen!]

[brokeforgood]

I insist! [And, she leads him the whole way to the Photography Room, and just. kind of. shoves him through the door, because Farrah has zero tact.]

[sjkdnjsdfdf welp there goes one chaos spirit, stumbling into the room

[Discord will find himself in a completely redecorated Photography room. The lights have been dimmed, with the room mostly illuminated by candles. In the middle of it all is a small, round table perfectly set for a dinner for two.

However, Discord will barely have time to react before Spongebob hands him a mocktail.]

For you, monsieur.

[He is doing a Really bad French accent.]

Anyway, Salieri is just going to...stand from where he was sitting at the table, clasping his hands behind his back casually to keep himself from fidgeting. Fortunately for him, he's used to wearing a very calm mask in stressful situations, and just...looks at Discord without a hint of nerves]

Good evening, Discord. I was wondering if you might care to join me for dinner?

[brokeforgood]

[And Farrah’s just going to. Vibe at the doorway, blocking the exit in case either of them gets too skittish and tries to bolt. Weirdly enough, Farrah also looks nervous, chewing on her lip a little—- she’s invested in this!]

[disharmonizes]

[Discord blinks, raising an eyebrow as suddenly a mocktail is handed to him and there's? candles? a table?

And then he looks over at Salieri, who's looking... definitely a little different. Not a bad different, either, it's kind of. nice? Mostly he's very caught off guard by all of this. And that invitation.]

Ah... Certainly?

[This is definitely someone who hasn't been on a date in like a thousand years now, but! It's a yes.]

...My, my, now I feel underdressed.

[Oh, there's the sarcasm.]

Oh, I can get you a nice suit or dress if you want! It'll take me just a second!

[If Discord hasn't grabbed the mocktail yet, he will notice it vibrating in Spongebob's hand as he's shaking in excitement over the idea of getting Discord an outfit.]

[it's now Salieri's turn to look mildly amused]

If Monsieur would like to, I am certainly not in any rush.

[...Honestly, now he kind of has to say yes, because how can he disappoint Spongebob?]

Well, if you insist on going to find a suit, who am I to refuse?

[Farrah's still blocking the door, just in case-- but she'll let Spongebob out, at least.]

Ugh. I can't believe we didn't think of that before--
