Week Five

[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!

Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!

Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.

You didn't happen to see her at all this morning, did you?

I actually, uh. Haven't been staying in Longacre for a little bit.

I have bad dreams. So I was staying with--- [Rina and Varian.] -- with Salieri and Discord. I don't think I saw her.

[She's gonna just. walk towards the great outdoors. Any sign of the scandalous Elle?]

[Okay, Farrah love, where are we starting our search outside? Bruiser is just going to find the nearest patch of grass meanwhile.]

[brokeforgood]

[Good dog!

Farrah starts in The Courtyard, knocking over a chess piece while Bruiser pees. She's not worried, but she figures the lovebirds are out here somewhere.]

Elle! Angus! You've gotta tell someone before you two sneak off!

[stagemanagers]

[No immediate response.]

[barberic]

[After checking all four dorms, Benjamin comes out after Farrah.]

Any sign?

[brokeforgood]

[SMH YOU GUYS, SHE CANT BE THE RESPONSIBLE ONE!]

ELLE! ANGUS! STOP SMOOCHING!

Oh, Hey. [Hi Benji. She shakes her head.]

No. I was gonna go check the fields next. Maybe they snuck off to the announcer's booths, or the storage shed? Seriously, so fuckin' irresponsible...

[barberic]

You think it's a case of puppy love getting the better of them, then?

[He hopes you're right. He's also jealous that others can be happy enough to neck like teenagers, when his own wife is dead.

But we'll just tamp that down deep for the time being.]

I hope you're right. What about... [He glances up the building toward the roof. Is the grappling hook hanging off the edge?] Elle said they found a garden up there. Seems secretive enough for a rendezvous.

[It is! You can see the rope dangling from the ledge.]

[brokeforgood]

Oh, yeah-- haven't you seen them? It's almost sick. [She follows his gaze to the rope, then inhales sharply.]

ELLE! I TOOK YOUR CUTE DOG OUT, YOU'RE WELCOME!

[whatyouwant]

[There is a moment of silence. Then another moment. And just when it's starting to get worrying...

Elle, half asleep and wrapped in a sheet, pokes her head over the side of the building.]

What time is it?

[barberic]

[A knot of tension that had been building in his gut releases.

And Benjamin starts to laugh. A deep, hysterical belly laugh that actually makes him double over forward, bracing his hands on his knees.]

[brokeforgood]

[Farrah tilts her head towards Benjamin with a sort of 'See?' expression on her face, when he starts to laugh. That's--- unexpected! But she's very pleased with it anyway, looking back up at Elle.]

Don't worry about it! Just leave Bruiser with me next time! [She's all giggles too, suddenly, patting Benjamin's back as he doubles over in laughter.]

Sorry we...didn't really mean to stay up here overnight. Is he okay?

[barberic]

["He" is going to go sit down at one of the tables in the courtyard and try to remember how to breathe.]

[brokeforgood]

Bruiser, or-- Bruiser's fine, but I think you may have broken Ben.

Don't worry about it! [Farrah giggles more, skipping off to perch on the table that Benji sat at, patting his back reassuringly, humming to herself between giggles]

Elle and Angus, Sittin on the Roof--
K-I-S-S-I-N-G

[whatyouwant]

Sorry, Mr. Ben!

[She looks back onto the roof and says something the others can't hear.]

We'll be down in just a minute!

[mcfife]

[There's sounds of bags being moved and Angus running around behind Elle, and he eventually pops up behind her in a hastily-buttoned school uniform.]

Hey! I'm, uh, going to throw a few things down! Just blankets and stuff, nothing big!

[barberic]

[He's still shaking with repressed chuckles, but shakes his head and waves off Elle's shouted apology.

He sucks in a breath and tilts his head back up at the sky, then exhales heavily. That seems to do it, though he wipes his eyes with one hand, then slaps his knees. Yes, like a grandpa.]

Well, crisis averted, hm?

[brokeforgood]

Told ya so. [She just sits back and enjoys the outdoors, too. She's glad that for once, she was right.]

[barberic]

[Benjamin frowns, rubbing her shoulder sympathetically.]

Go on, then. The little man needs to go out. I'll check the other dorms for her.

[While Farrah goes outside, Benji stays behind to check Longacre, next.]

[No sign of the lovely Delta Nu of Longacre there!]

[barberic]

[He'll stick his head into Ambassador next, and if that's fruitless he'll check Rodgers last, before following the way Farrah went.]

[Nope and nope! No sign of her or her dashing prince.]
