Week Five

[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!

Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!

Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.

[Salieri is startled out of his memory at that, and he turns to face Spongebob at that, setting hands on his shoulders]

This scene [Salieri spins him around, away from him, nudging him a bit towards the exit to the kitchen] won't play,

[he turns back to grab that tray, hefting it]

I won't say I'm in love-- [yep Salieri sure is starting to walk out of the kitchen past him]

[Spongebob spins around, before chasing after Salieri.]

You're doing flips, read our lips

[And he slides down right in front of him.]

You're in love

[Salieri stops short at that, sucking in a breath, taking a step back, face coloring again]

You're way off-base, I won't say it! [he huffs, setting the tea tray back down on one of the cafeteria tables with a little more force than necessary]

Get off my case, I won't say it!

[He gets back up and gives Salieri a quick huh.]

Dad, don't be proud

[He sits on the table Salieri is at, giving him a knowing and understanding look.]

It's okay you're in love!

[Salieri hesitates a moment--then with a sigh, he moves to sit next to Spongebob, the hug and the look both softening his defenses]

Oh, at least out loud, [he pushes the tea tray back a bit, propping his chin on his hand] I won't say I'm in-

[he leans over a bit, resting his shoulder against Spongebob's]

Sha-la-la-la-la-la aaah

[He rests his head on Salieri in return.]

You know, I can be your wingman if you need one!

[Salieri blinks at that, turning his head slightly to arch an eyebrow at him]

I...wasn't aware sponges had wings?

[That gets a laugh out of him.]

Not like that, silly! I mean I can help set up a date with you and Discord!

[ah. Just when that flush was just starting to cool down, it flares back up]

Ah, no, really that's quite alright; there's so much else to work on, after all-- [flustered]

[Spongebob nudges him with his elbow.]

Cmon, Mr. Salieri, it can wait! It’s not like the school is gonna blow up by the end of the day!

[...Hopefully.]

Besides, you got me to help you!

I, that is, I'm not sure if--a date is exactly...well, we just need to talk and there just hasn't been time since the Sunday before last, and everything moves so quickly, and every time I think to bring it up, it doesn't seem like the right time...

C'mon, Mr. Salieri, there's no better time than the present! If you wait, Discord might meet someone else and you two will spend the rest of your lives wondering about the "what ifs"! I don't think I could forgive myself if I let that happen!

[He does, distantly, also realize that there is a chance that one of them could die before they get a chance to hook up. But he refuses to verbalize or even acknowledge it.

He doesn't want to think about how each interaction with his friends could be his last.]

[That's...well Salieri's not sure that Discord will meet someone else, but the whole idea of "what ifs"...it's enough to give him pause]

I'll...I'll think about it. I promise.

Oooh no you don't! You'll do more than thinking and I already told you I could wingman for you!

[He grabs Salieri's hands and looks at him with determination.]

I swear to Neptune that You're gonna get that date!
