Week Five

[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!

Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!

Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.

I don't know. He never seemed to make a grand show of his magic - not at all how wizards are. [His stage magic was surprisingly free of thunder and dramatic boasting.] Like the Balladeer said, The Phantom and The Wizard - their fictional counterparts, that is - are skilled stage magicians.

[He squints at the board. A mix of Spinel and Claudine? Neither of them seemed willing to hurt him, though the evil magic that transforms them into a chimera may have driven them to madness. He doesn't know.]

That fits the timeline. Did she mention anything else about the others?

I'm afraid I don't know many Wizards.

[Aside from this one and... maybe the giraffe? Hard to say about that one.]

I... Did not think to ask. I'm sorry. After she informed me of Nana, I lost track of my train of thought.

[mcfife]

No, it's enough. We have confirmation that my memories are correct. [Some of them escaped. What of the others, without a counterpart here? Did they die?]

...Hester says that we learned who was behind all this last time. Nana and Claudine would be aware of what happened, but if they remember nothing, then all of our memories of this would have been erased.

[He adds another section, "memories".] Something that can erase what we remember...

It was never something that they brought up to me, but that is only as far as I can recall. With our memories coming back piece by piece, there is no telling whether or not they conversation has truly happened.

And during the several months I spent in Fife after I escaped, I don't recall ever mentioning my detour to my allies.

...Perhaps you are right. Perhaps he targets any memory that may allude to The Phantom's machinations.

[mayavericks]

Our lack of knowledge on our current situation is one of the few things that separates us from him. It does not surprise me that he might be trying to stifle such memories.

But he can't hide them all. We're remember things. I'm remembering enough to start piecing the clues together. [Even though he is no where near the mark, but he doesn't know that]

That's whey I need your help completing this board. I'm already stuck.
