Week Five

[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!

Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!

Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.

[He imagines that stabbing jokes aren't great when you have been stabbed. He doesn't know, he doesn't even remember that time he was stabbed.]

[In front of everyone else? If Angus did that, it'd come off as being in bad taste.]

We can skip the joke. [She's not touching any knives.]

It is weird, though. Why Riley? Why me?

Hester says it's all random. At least, that's what she believes. [He's come to realize that she doesn't know a lot about the Wizard's plans.] It may have been random the first time, but if we all lived, some of you may have been taken as revenge. You for Riley, Maya for Claudine and Nana.

[He taps Jeremy's name.] I remember destroying the SQUIP that was controlling his boy. The same teenager ours was serving. The Wizard took one from another dimension instead. I don't know why I was kidnapped. Perhaps my friends were too powerful for the Wizard's claws. Perhaps he only wanted those with a close connection to the escaped.

[There are other names on the bottom, those without strings attached to this group of people.] But those are all the connections I can think of. There was a pink alien who likely may be the same species as the one in my photo, but she was no fighter. And there was a girl...

[He grips onto the red riding hood he wears.] She was looking for this cloak. We were planning to escape together.
