[It's Sunday night! Boy, today sure has been a day, hasn't it?? Memories returned, Father's Day Gifts given, and Benjamin sure had a Time, didn't he?

Looks like it's time to find ways to cope.

Thus, the bed frames from Broadhurst dorm are being worked on being taken apart by Varian while the mattresses are becoming The New Floor.

Additionally, there's plenty to eat and drink, what with the hot pot provided by Rina, cookies that might just taste a bit burnt from Farrah, apples from Orpheus, more delicious potatoes from Maya, as well as sandwiches by Cassandra. There is also quite the variety of pie, from caramel, to bittersweet chocolate and strawberries, and several other varieties from the vending machine. Finally, there's popcorn brought in by Spongebob. If someone wants a drink, there is some delicious hot cocoa, provided by Elsa, as well as the tea brought in by Discord. There's also a variety of drinks from the vending machines.

Everyone's invited of course. There are a variety of games happening, and there's even a TV that's been wheeled down from the Library. So bring your pajamas, whatever they happen to be, and settle in for a sleepover!]

[In a bit of a twist, an unexpected visitor peaks her head into Broadhurst for the first time. It turns out when Salieri said everyone was invited he meant everyone.

So here's Hester, dressed in a vibrant pink pajama set covered in little hearts with her hair pulled into a pair of braids. She's got a desk of cards in one hand, a plate of sugar cookies in the other, a little black make-up case under one arm and boy, does she look nervous to be even be existing right now.]

Um...hi?

[ Hester is dressed in very cute pajamas, offering sweet little tokens of hospitality. Eurydice immediately regards this as suspicious.

She actually doesn't mind Hester being here, though. Eurydice has taken it upon herself to conduct Operation Watch Hester For Funny Business, and it takes her mind off of other things. In fact, Eurydice spends a good chunk, if not most, of the party staring Hester down.

Later, she'll actually approach. ]

[ Eurydice is not warm, but she's not outright hostile, either. Mostly she just sounds curious, and doing her best to remain focused. ]

[Hester, for most of the night, has been a weird mixture of wallflower and awkward social butterfly. She clearly wants to Be Included but there's such an earnest, overexcited energy to her that she's not sure what to do next or who might actually like to talk to her. After a bit she just ends up stepping back and sitting on a mattress for a bit, painting her nails a bright pink to match her pjs. That's where Eurydice finds her.

She looks up at her with a small smile, nodding excitedly.]

I am, actually! I've never been invited to a sleepover before so this is all, um, really new to me. [...] Are you? Having fun, I mean.

[ Oh, no, Hester is saying something relatable again. Eurydice does her best to ignore the accompanying pain of guilt -- Hester works for her captor; she cannot trust her. ]

I...guess? I haven't been to one of these before, either. But you knew to bring nail polish, so, uh. That's good. I guess.

Yeah! When I was younger my foster sisters used to paint my nails for me before I had the, you know, finger dexterity to do it myself.

[She finishes her last finger and lightly blows on her nails, tilting her head up at Eurydice.] Would you, um, would you like me to do yours, Eurydice?

[ Foster sisters? That's...hm. Distantly, Eurydice wonders how long Hester has had to hold her own.

Eurydice hesitates, staring at Hester and trying to see if she can find any ill intent. There doesn't seem to be any, so Eurydice brusquely thrusts her left hand forward. It's a little awkward, but it's also an olive branch. ]

Sure. Do you have black? Or blue?

[ Hey, guess who hasn't spoken to Hester a single time, so uh. This is slightly awkward? But Janis waves. ]

[Hester waves back! And then realizes she's waving way too enthusiastically and very quickly tones it down.]

Janis, hey!

Uh. [ By now she has probably picked up on Maya being cool with her, and has never really been against her, but also. It has been over three weeks. ] Welcome to the party, pal.

[Oh god, she made it weird already. This is why she never got invited to parties before. Act cool, Hester.]

Thanks. I waffled over coming for a while but, uh, you guys did such a great job transforming the dorms, how could I not? [#nailedit]

Oh. Hi, Miss Hester. [ says Orpheus, who was not expecting this and blinks owlishly at her for a moment before stepping back to let her in. This is good, right? If they wanted to get Hester on their side, they should try to include her in things, sometimes!

(he does not notice his wife staring her down) ]

Are you here for the sleepover? What's that you've brought with you? [ He gestures to the makeup case, having never really seen one before. ]

Orpheus, hi! Monsieur Salieri invited me. [She gives him a big smile and a small, awkward wave that's completely unnecessary this close up. She has...a lot of energy tonight, and a much different kind from when he's seen her at motives and trials. In this moment she's very much Just Happy to Be Here.

She glances at the bag under her arm, trying to angling it toward him without dropping her cookies.] It's, ah, my make-up case. I thought it might be fun to do some makeovers if people were interested.

[Even at a party that mostly involves sleeping, she is still wearing a full face of make-up.]

[ That's unusual!! Then again most people Orpheus knows don't wear a lot of makeup compared to the people here, so he doesn't necessarily think much of it. ]

Oh, that sounds fun? [ says Orpheus, not totally sure of what that entails beyond the obvious implication that it involves cosmetics. ] Do you want me to take those cookies for you? Just so you don't have to carry all of that at once.

If you don't mind- [She passes him the plate and he'll see they're all in fun little shapes! Stars, hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades, all delicately decorated in white royal icing.] Thank you, Orpheus. I hope I haven't missed too much of the fun yet.

[Ah, there she is! He's pleased she made it, retrieving a cup of hot cocoa and bringing it over to her]

Mademoiselle Hester. I'm so glad you could make it.

[She's already set down her bits and bobs by the time he comes over so her hands are free to take the cocoa. The moment he comes into range all the nervous energy she's been radiating from the moment she stepped in the door just dissipates. She gives him a warm smile.]

I'm glad you invited me. You guys really went to work on Broadhurst, huh?

We certainly did. More and more people were starting to move dorms, and several of the younger ones wanted to sleep here, so it seemed like the next logical step.

[Elle grins and waves. Bruiser gives a little happy yip and runs over to beg for pets.]

Elle! [She starts to wave with the hand folding the cards but quickly gets distracted by the tiny dog begging for her attention. She crouches, setting down her stuff to give him some proper ear rubs.] And Brusier! Hello, good boy, hello.

Hester-san.

[Despite their earlier... conversation, Maya still looks pleased to see her. She motions the woman over to her corner.]

I was afraid you would not come. I'm glad to see you.

Maya, hi. [She hurries over, make-up bag in her hands, and settles down next to her. Much like with Salieri, the overly excitable energy radiating off Hester sort of melts away when she's by Maya.]

I wasn't sure if I should but what else is a girl going to to on a Sunday night? Sit in my office and watch Moulin Rogue for the ninth time? [It was sorely tempting though.]

[Even if there's still a tenseness radiating off of Maya, when she laughs it at least sounds genuine.]

It's what I would have done, given the choice. [Still, she reaches over to give Hester's hand a pat.] But from one wallflower to another, it's good that you're here. We should celebrate these moments we have together, right?

[Spongebob waves from the floor, still looking a little sad from his memory regain but certainly is happy to see her.]

Hi Hester! I haven't seen you at a party in awhile!

Spongebob! [She sets down the majority of her things on one of the mattresses before coming over to crouch next to him with her plate of sugar cookies.] Monsieur Salieri insisted and it gets a little lonely in my office after hours.

I thought you'd never ask! [He takes a cookie.] I made some popcorn too if you want any!

[He munches on the cookie as he thinks about what Hester said.]

You know if you want you can hang out with me after hours! It's no fun just sitting in your office all day; especially when you have so many friends out here!
