Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

They must have finally gotten tired of giving us fake knives.

Sugar, milk, vanilla, got it.

[He races off to find the three ingredients that will create the glorious icing, first by questing to the refrigerator, where he knows milk awaits. Then, he seeks the cabinet he once opened that revealed flour and other bags of milled items. Through careful reading, he finds a half-empty bag labeled "powdered sugar." The last item - the vanilla - is difficult. He knows not where it may be stored. Alas, he is lost, but there is no need to despair.]

What does vanilla look like?

It, well...takes you places. Like a carriage, but without the horses. It's all automatic, from what I understand.

I don't mind at all. I mean, this is the first time I've ever gotten to see the process first hand.

Other than the smoking, it must involve a lot of chemicals, right?

Varian opens his mouth, closes it. This happens a few times.]


...aalright alright. You caught me, didn't you?

[In that case, Varian will carefully hand the tiara over to her, laughing himself atthat.]

Oh boy, yeah, now that you put it that way...kiinda no good explanation for some random kid with the Queen's tiara in his posession, huh?

[At worst they'd probably think he stole it somehow, though.]

But for what it's worth, Spongebob has an extremely happy customer on his hands. He'll even follow him into the kitchen to watch, assuming Spongebob doesn't mind. It's not like Ruddiger can talk to tell people what the secret formula is, or anything.]

[Varian looks immediately concerned, putting up his hands.]

Is there...a different way to make a s'more without a fire? Maybe just heating it up on the stove would work?

[Aw, Spongebob...]

It looks like it can be scary. I mean...this isn't as unpredictable as a horse I'd imagine, but it's still a giant metal machine.

[Ruddiger, being the walking garbage disposal that he is, won't take long at all to finish. If Salieri wants, he could just plop something in his little people hands and he'd munch away as he takes him back to Varian in the auto shop.]

[There's this emote on plurk- This one. That's what Varian's face did just then as Orpheus kept talking.]

O...oh! Oh.

[INDUSTRIALIZATION]

Well that's, uh...really great! And impressive...that technology has advanced so much...

[He blinks, shaking his head a little.]

Maybe there's just...gonna be a sort of growth period? It'll take a while for people to get adjusted to all the new machines that exist so...surely it'll balance out.

Yeah. I'm glad you had somebody like him to teach you. Seems like it's served you really well, here.

[Ruddiger is just going to grab up a couple more grapes in that case- maybe shoving a few into his mouth like the chipmunk he definitely is not for safe keeping- before carefully hopping up onto Maya's shoulder. Despite how big he is, he's actually not too heavy to have up there, being mostly fluff with a pot belly. His tail wraps around her shoulders like a fluffy boa as he settles to munch on the grapes while she goes.

Varian is up underneath the car in the auto shop, but he can hear above whatever loud banging he's doing in there.]

[Well he wasn't expecting it to just vrrrm away but now that it's moving without instruction...]

Maybe it's some sort of AI?

Uh...maybe that would be good.

[These...well, hope springs eternal, he'll just scrape them out onto a plate for right now.]

I just want to be able to do some things, you know? It's not fair that Spongebob has to cook for everybody all the time.

She is, yes. When we first met, well, I trapped her in a maze, but. Bygones and all.

I was just intending to trick her into guaranteeing my freedom. It just happens that we actually did become friends.

[Varian's arms go around him and Salieri starts to do the same--when Varian calls him that. He goes a little stiff in surprise]

[There's something that swells in his chest immediately afterward, something tender and warm and touched, and Salieri wraps his arms around Varian immediately, hugging him close]

...thank you. [his voice is rough, swallowing past a throat tight with emotion.]
