Week Two
[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!
Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]

(( No new locations this week, since y'all haven't paid in blood! Hester's office hours are still open, as are regains! Make sure to complete your first activity check by Tuesday! ))

[ More than she did his own, at least. He's not terribly hurt by it, though, knowing he's not necessarily as cultured as some of the others here and also being familiar with the feeling of having made mistakes in your craft that no one else can see. But Maestro Salieri surely has something he can say to make her feel a little better about it, at least. ]
I really did think it was amazing, though. Everyone here is so skilled and talented. I'm glad for the opportunity to have met you all and seen you work, even if the situation isn't, um. The best, overall.

[and then they DIDN'T. They did just the opposite. But anyway--]
That stands for me, as well. The circumstances are far from ideal, but...nevertheless, I'm glad I've gotten the chance to get to know and work with many people here. That, at least, is a blessing.

And I must admit, I'm curious about the worlds of other's here. Some of them sound simply fantastical.

If it was done here, then there certainly must be a way for us to use it for our own benefit.

[ He already kind of does, going between the surface and the Underworld to guide the dead, but those are more closely linked than most. ]

And...what is he like, might I ask?

[ Beggars and liars, travelers and thieves. ]
He took care of me, after my mom left, and even though he's always really busy with work he made time to teach me things and tell me stories about his travels. I owe a lot to him.

He sounds like a wonderful man. [wait]--er, God.

He is. He does a lot for all of us, and it may not... always be enough to save everyone? But I know he's trying.

...sometimes all one can do is continue to try, I think. I feel I must admire him for that.

It almost seems like a naive thing to say. Were he in Court, Salieri might inwardly scoff at that, and refrain from answering. But...he's not there. Instead he's here, in this terrible place, with people he's quickly learning to trust at a rate in which he never has. There's a comfort here, oddly, despite the situation. A safety that he hasn't experienced since he was a boy. So instead of perhaps taking it with derision, he pushes past the long-ingrained instinct and just
maybe
allows himself to believe, a little, in the kindness of others. In the kindness that Orpheus himself has show him. In the kindness of everyone here.
Salieri swallows, hard, and nods]
It, ah...[he clears his throat]..it is, indeed. Very important.

Speaking of, thanks again, for doing all of this. I'm going to go congratulate some of the others now? But I'm sure I'll talk to you again soon.
