Week Two

[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!

Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

(( No new locations this week, since y'all haven't paid in blood! Hester's office hours are still open, as are regains! Make sure to complete your first activity check by Tuesday! ))

She seemed to be, even if I couldn't actually solve anything. I'm still looking into it on my own time...it's just the issue of it being some sort of magic, mostly. It's not my wheelhouse, exactly.

[He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Not that it matters right now, I guess.

No, I suppose not...[he pauses, considering]

However, there are a few with magic here, are there not? Have you spoken to them about it? It could certainly be a way to take up time.

Yeah...I did talk to Elsa about it, but she seemed about as unsure. Arendelle is actually one of our neighboring kingdoms, so I'd been wondering if they'd been coming across anything strange, but...

[He shrugs one shoulder.]

Apparently their magic is a lot rarer than ours. It isn't something that just manifests out of nowhere.

As loathe as I am to suggest it, he certainly does like to talk about himself, so...have you considered asking Monsieur Discorde?

He also has quite a history with magic, what with his whole Lord of Chaos [yeah, no he can't quite help the sarcasm] bit.

I....hm.

[...you know, Salieri makes a good point.]

Well...this magic seems pretty unpredictable and chaotic. He might actually know more than anyone else would, now that you say that.

Whether you'll be able to get anything useful out of him or not remains to be seen but...it would certainly be a place to start. [he smirks a bit, conspiratorial]

I suppose as long as you don't frame it as him helping...

[Okay, Varian snorts at that.]

Riight, right...instead I need to say, I'm priveleged to be receiving his advice, or something like that. Right?

[Salieri considers for a moment]

Something along those lines would be effective, yes. [he arches an eyebrow] Frame it as a puzzle that you yourself cannot solve--talk about it around him, but let him get interested in it himself.
