Week Two
[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!
Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
(( No new locations this week, since y'all haven't paid in blood! Hester's office hours are still open, as are regains! Make sure to complete your first activity check by Tuesday! ))

Then Spongebob says lives aren't worth trading, and that seems to imply something awfully dark. Concerned, Eurydice asks: ]
Did you get a picture of someone...dying?

[Spongebob pauses, and reaches into his pocket. He pulls out a piece of paper, unfolds it, and gives it to Eurydice. It's a picture of a town. Or... what might have been a town. It's been flooded with lava; all the buildings have been absolutely destroyed by the lavas and rock fall. In the distance there is a still smoldering volcano.]
That's my home.

Eurydice's eyes grow wide and she swallows, like something's been caught in her throat. She's never been anywhere near a volcano, but she does know what it's like to lose a home because the seasons -- the earth -- went wrong. She'd lost hers, years ago. She doesn't really think about it anymore.
Eurydice does not, as a rule, trust people. She is not an especially touchy person. But she doubts that Spongebob could really do anything to harm her, and he looks so sad, so she passes the photograph and tentatively rests a hand on his shoulder. ]
I'm sorry. That must be so frightening.

It is. The worst part about is is is that I have a bad feeling the volcano will erupt pretty soon.
[His face pales slightly, and he's unsure if he wants to continue.]
And... and I'm scared that even if they knew what was gonna happen, they would be too busy looking for me to save themselves.

Eurydice knows she can't fix this, and she won't try to. But she also knows what it was like to go through this alone, and she doesn't want that to happen to Spongebob.
She...doesn't usually do this, and there's still that old voice shouting in the back of her head that this is stupid and dangerous, but Eurydice tries not to listen to it. The hand on Spongebob's shoulder becomes a little firmer, a little more confident, and she gives Spongebob a gentle squeeze. ]
I'm...glad you have friends who care about you like that. I really hope that doesn't happen, too.

Thank you so much Eurydice. I'm just so happy I have friends like you here, too! It really makes this whole situation so much better.

what
Eurydice has had all of two conversations with this person, and now they are friends? He is hugging her? Eurydice honestly doesn't know what to do about this, and for a moment all she does is sit there, incredibly awkward. ]

Thanks. Me too.
