Week Two

[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!

Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]

[Farrah's just passing through the cafeteria to get herself a new diet coke, when-- She stops in her tracks. She stares at Angus' pile. Then, acting on emotion alone--]

What the hell, dude?!

[He looks up from the lizard cradled in his hands.]

I'm keeping them. This is their home.

[Because that's what she's focused on.]

Not the frog! [Farrah. That’s not a frog. But there’s no time for telling her that. She goes for the phone, snatching it up out of the rice.]

Why do you have my sisters phone?

[mcfife]

It's a lizard. [He holds it up.] The broken phone? It came from the machine.

[brokeforgood]

Why was my sisters phone in the machine?! [FORGET THE SNAKE, ANGUS.]

[mcfife]

Ask the wizard! I did not know that he stole something from your stepsister!

[He stands up to get a better look:] And he broke it.

[brokeforgood]

It looks like it was dropped. [Farrah frowns, turning the phone over in her hand. The case is so familiar.]

Annleigh’s really responsible. She doesn’t just drop her phone and break it. I hope...

[mcfife]

[If she is, then there must be a reason why it's broken. There's something important in the communication tablet.]

If he did steal it, he likely wanted to prevent her from calling you. Or us calling her. Any way we can call for help, he'll destroy it. [But....] Perhaps she saw you be taken.

[brokeforgood]

I hope not. It would have been a relief for her, if I was gone. And... If he did see her, and take her phone-- [Her stomach twists.]

Annleigh, Where are you?
Already dead, or bleeding?
One more disaster I can add to my
Blame-- Why would she even try?

[He doesn't want to lie and say that Annleigh could be alive. He doesn't know how upset Farrah would be if her stepsister was dead.]

She would have been trying to protect you, if he believed the phone was dangerous.
