Week Two

[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!

Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]

[Salieri's expression softens a bit, then] It was. It was very nice to be able to experience that with everyone involved.

[he tilts his head a bit] You're more than welcome to join in the next one, if you'd like?

[Apples, honey, water, and herbs...he only knows one of those things. Well, that's a start. It smells delicious, all the same.]

Oh - no, I-I couldn't. I don't really have any experience in all of that stuff.

[Plus, he might get excited and join in the singing. And no-one wants that.]

Well, that's alright. What better time to learn?

If you're not comfortable on stage, we could always use help with costumes and sets.

[prophetpriestandking]

I guess. [He tilts his head to the side, unsure.] I kinda end up ruining things, though. A-and getting told to leave. Or to sit on a bit of ice away from everyone else.

[He says it pretty casually, but with some trademarked Mumble Awkwardness.]

[that will cause a slight frown to appear between his brows] If you don't mind me asking, why exactly would they say that you ruin things?

Oh, cause I get excited and try to join in and sing when I can't, or I - [He tap-dances on the spot. Nothing extravagant, but a light demonstration to get the point across.] Do that.

It's, uh, it embarasses people.

[violentenvies]

[he blinks at the tap-dancing] Ah, well...I've never seen such kinds of dancing in an opera, necessarily--it is mostly ballet. But certainly there are other groups that do performances of such kinds of dancing, if singing isn't your forte?

Not where I come from. A-as far as I know. I haven't been that far across the ice, but...I can't imagine it.

[violentenvies]

[Salieri frowns a bit] Across the ice?

[prophetpriestandking]

[He makes a gesture.]

Penguin thing. I've never been out of Emperor-land. I-if you're not counting the ocean.

[violentenvies]

Ah. You've never been that far away from home, then. [he sees, now]

I suppose that would make sense, then.

[....]

So...no one in Emperor-land dances?

[prophetpriestandking]

Nope. A-and no one doesn't sing either. [He idly kicks his leg.] Just...me.

[that'll garner a small frown out of Salieri]

....I see.

Well, I suppose that does settle it, then.

Settle...what, exactly?

[violentenvies]

I've heard more than enough folk dancers do some similar dancing as to what you showed me. There's no reason I couldn't add something like that into the next performance.

If you're interested, that is.

Would I!

[He practically starts buzzing with excitement, but reigns it in just a little bit.]

You'd really - you'd do that?

[violentenvies]

Certainly. Where I'm from, dancing is a very important part of both life and art. I see no reason you shouldn't have a chance to express yourself similarly.

[He really, really means it. He's beaming out his own rays of light.]

Have...you ever danced, by any chance?

[violentenvies]

I have, though I'm afraid it leans more towards the courtly dances like the Waltz, rather than what you showed me.

[prophetpriestandking]

Then maybe I could show you how, o-or you can show me how to courtly dance, too.

[violentenvies]

We could do both, perhaps?

[prophetpriestandking]

Sounds perfect! Just let me know when!

How about we find a time later this week, then? We can put some music on in the dance studio and exchange dance lessons.

I-I'm free whenever. [He idly kicks a foot.] I don't have plans, or, anything going on, really.
