Week Two

[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!

Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

(( No new locations this week, since y'all haven't paid in blood! Hester's office hours are still open, as are regains! Make sure to complete your first activity check by Tuesday! ))

[ Eurydice arrives to the show with Orpheus, and spends pretty much the entire time joined at his hip. Throughout most of it, she tries to keep her expression neutral, but every so often, when she's convinced no one's looking, she'll smile to herself. In reality, she's just as starry-eyed about the whole thing as Orpheus is.

By the time the afterparty rolls around, she's actually allowed herself to have some fun! Turns out Salieri is a pretty cool guy, actually. Since she'd seen him make the mead, she is reasonably confident it's safe. Before she knows it, Eurydice has had a decent amount to drink. Her face is flushed, and she's smiling, for once. She'll even wander away from Orpheus for a while, making an effort to chat with members of the cast, crew, and audience. ]

That was pretty good, huh?

[ It's Monday. Eurydice has food to eat, a warm place to sleep, and company. Life is good. ]

Sooooo good. I'm so pro~ud of everyone! [Farrah throws an arm around Eurydice's shoulder, like they're great pals, trusty sprite bottle in her other hand. She's a little more peppy and fun than usual.]
howtheworldwas: (woo!)

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-08 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
[ Eurydice turns so she can see Farrah properly. Ordinarily, she'd be annoyed by this breach of personal space, but today, she's just happy to see her roommate is doing well. ]

Good! I'm proud of you.

[ Eurydice really means it. ]

[personal profile] brokeforgood 2021-06-08 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Somehow, Farrah can tell that she means it-- even with her head slightly fogged with strawberita. Farrah gives Eurydice a quick squeeze of a side hug, then releases her quickly, not wanting to push her luck-- blushing gently at the compliment.]

Are you... really?
howtheworldwas: (smile)

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-08 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I am. That was one of the best shows I've ever seen!

[ Eurydice's sample size is, like, depressingly small but that doesn't matter!! ]
brokeforgood: (farrah40)

[personal profile] brokeforgood 2021-06-09 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
It was mostly Salieri. But... It's really nice to hear you say that. Normally, I don't make people proud.
howtheworldwas: (thin lipped)

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-09 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well that doesn't make sense at all! Eurydice frowns a little. ]

Really? I could never do something like that. I'd never even give it a shot. The fact that you even tried means a lot.

Ah, Madame Eurydice. [Salieri will offer her a small smile as he holds out a cup of mead]

You enjoyed the show, then?
howtheworldwas: (smile)

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-08 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[ Eurydice raises her cup in return. Cheers! ]

I did. I never got to see anything like this back home, so... [ A little shyly: ] ...it was nice.

[Cheers, indeed! They haven't had too many interactions, but this is certainly the most relaxed and happy that he's seen her, and her obvious enjoyment and praise is more than enough to make him feel incredibly accomplished and pleased.]

I'm very pleased to hear that you've not only had a chance to experience something new but that you enjoyed it, as well. I'll certainly take that as the highest of praise.

Thanks, I thought so!

[The Balladeer is not particularly flushed, but he is High On Being A Fulfilled Extrovert for once!]

I've never gotten to talk to anyone from the audience after one of my shows! What did you think about it? Like, anything, I don't know.
howtheworldwas: (examine)

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-08 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. [ Eurydice thinks about that for a moment, and takes another sip of her mead. ]

I know it's your whole thing, but you're really good at telling stories. And performing. And it felt like you really liked what you were doing, you know? Kind of reminded me of Orpheus.

[ that's VERY high praise ]

[personal profile] tellthestory 2021-06-08 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh - thank you, that's very kind.

[He doesn't have quite the reverence for Orpheus that Salieri does, but the Balladeer is always weak to any sort of compliment.]

I guess you could say I was made for it, but I do enjoy it, too.

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-08 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good. It would be really mean if you were made for it, but didn't enjoy it. [ Eurydice offers a smile. ] Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but then, I did!

[ The performing arts have always felt like luxuries and wastes of time, but between this and Orpheus's music...maybe Eurydice's not so sure she believes that, anymore. ]

[The Balladeer returns the smile!]

Good! Yeah, it seems like a lot of people here aren't really used to seeing opera - heck, I'm not really used to it myself.

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-11 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? I figured you'd know all about it.

[ Since he's a Narrator, even though Eurydice has a shaky understanding of what that means. ]
tellthestory: (♪ lusingando ♫)

[personal profile] tellthestory 2021-06-11 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not from an opera.

[No real reason to!]

[ oh, that kind of makes sense? ]

Mm. What kind of story are you from?
tellthestory: (♪ intro ♫)

[personal profile] tellthestory 2021-06-12 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
A musical play. Just a one-act thing, sort of...maybe a little weird.

[People mostly think he's weird for being from a show at all, but even within that context there's a lot of weird shit going on there.]
howtheworldwas: (talk)

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-12 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ Eurydice takes another sip of her mead. ]

Everywhere's weird. Being from a play sounds kind of nice.

[ Less to worry about, she's assuming. ]
tellthestory: (♪ flessibile ♫)

[personal profile] tellthestory 2021-06-12 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
...does it?

[That's an uncommon opinion!]

Why's that?
howtheworldwas: (talk)

[personal profile] howtheworldwas 2021-06-16 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[ Later, Eurydice is going to deeply regret drinking this much mead. ]

In stories, people don't go hungry, or worry about where they're gonna sleep at night, you know?
tellthestory: (♪ accelerando ♫)

[personal profile] tellthestory 2021-06-16 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
...that's true. Unless it's about that. But if it's not - I never really ate or slept, there, but I never felt hungry or tired either?

[Is that good or bad? He hasn't minded the fact that it's changed; makes him feel a little more human.]
