[Another week, and two more dead. King Richard and Red are both gone, and once again, it was through nothing more than an accident in the heat of the moment. Maybe if you all stay calm and collected, nothing bad will happen again?

Well, maybe not.

When you wake on Sunday, you'll find that you've recovered another one of those memories - or had another dream, if you still wanna be in denial about it. The grounds remain as they are, but this time, the door blocking the stairwell has been unsealed. You can now venture up to the second floor! This is the second time that's happened; it's almost as if you get more space every time someone dies. Or maybe the whole place just seems quieter.]

Hey, don't gotta worry about that. Cheering people up and making sure they have a good time is what spinels do best.

[That said...] How do you cheer people up?

[ A tired smile. ] D'you know what a cheerleader is, Spinel? We...

[ She's........not feeling the song today. ]

We're a group that performs at our school events. At...games, actually. We do choreographed routines, with...chants, inspirational words. We're there to lift everyone's spirits, if things start to go bad. We're...role models, who find camaraderie with our team, on the fields.

At least. That's...how it's supposed to go.

[herwiggles]

[There's... so many things Spinel could ask. Such as, 'what's a school', or 'what does camaraderie mean'?

Or she could just smile and nod along, until it sinks in.]

That sounds... amazing! Cheering up the crowds, being inspirational and leading chants... I'd love to be a entertainer like that.

[isawallflower]

[ Riley gives a light, reactionary laugh and leans her head against her hand. ]

With your moves, you'd probably be a really good one. I've never met anyone as flexible as you, though...that's probably by...design. [ A moment- ] You...were made to be..."fun," right? That...you said something like that?

[herwiggles]

Hehe, that's the gist of it! Spinel are reeeeally flexible.

[She holds her arms above her head and they twist together.]

All Gems are made for a purpose, and I was made to be best friends with Pink. And I've done a pretty good job of that, if I say so myself.

[isawallflower]

You...didn't get to choose? You were just told she was your best friend, and that was it?

[ Riley finds herself thinking back to a headstrong girl standing up for her, telling her that they were best friends now. Maybe she didn't have much of a choice there either, but... ]

What was the game you were playing, anyway?

[herwiggles]

Well, I like to have friends, and I got to be Pink Diamond's best friend! [So it worked out? They got to spend endless hours together, having fun and enjoying each other's company.]

Oh, it was a special game. She told me it right before she left for Earth.

[She hops out of her chair to demonstrate.]

I had to stand - like this - veeerrrry still.

[ Riley waits for more, but, when it doesn’t come: ] Aaannnddd?

[herwiggles]

...That's it!

I was waiting for Pink to come back! I wanted to ask her if I was doing it right.

[isawallflower]

[ ...Well, holy shit. Uh. She looks a little uncomfortable? ]

O-oh. Well. That... I haven't...heard of a game like that, before, but. I-I'm sure you were doing fine.

[herwiggles]

Yeah.... I was. That's why I'm hoping Pink won't be mad when I get back.

[Because she's absolutely going to be there. Absolutely.]

[ There are a lot of warning bells here, but- well. Riley's had one hell of a day. She keeps thinking about Jeremy, seizing on the floor, and Christine sobbing, and the fear that they'd have to execute her, and...

And. She can't really examine this...frankly sad sounding situation.

Riley manages one of her practiced smiles. ]

I'm sure she won't. You're friends after all, right? Hey- how about...um, besides the Cats movie, what others did you watch? Let's just...put something on, right?

[herwiggles]

...Really?

[Does Spinel know that's a fake smile? Can she even tell? Who knows, but it's enough to perk her back up again.]

Well... I did like that one with all the singing and dancing. The one about the color red, I mean?

[isawallflower]

[ Okay. That feels a little better. Atmosphere, up. Mood, up. That's...what Riley wants to be good at. So, that fake smile eases a little more into a real one. Just a bit. ]

Sssuuure! That...that one.

[ Give her a- ]

Youuu mean- Why are so many of these movies older than me? Yeah, that one's...great, I think.

[ Riley you don't know she dies at the end huh- ]

[herwiggles]

[Mood up! Good things are happening. She's a regular helper, just like Steven!]

Yeah, yeah! That one! I haven't seen how it ends yet!

[She's excited to find out!]
