week 2

WEEK 2

[It's been...

One week since you woke up here
Met your house manager and said "We’re angry"
Five days since he laughed at you saying
"Write me some letters and you’ll never see me"
Three days since the mirror room
You realized there’s more the Opera House wouldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd bonded more
But it'll still be two days till you get your motive

Welcome to week 2, performers.
]

[Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday]

[ooc: happy week 2, everyone! Don't forget to submit your AC and your regains! Regain rolls are done Sunday and Tuesday nights.]

It's a lot to process. I have a feeling the emotional exhaustion was part of his scheme

[Sigyn looks back at the faux carnage]

If you'd rather, you can join me. Physical activity can been a type of meditation.
isawallflower: (you start to realize)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-10 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, I don't think...getting all sweaty before Steve and Christine's sleepover is a good...idea...

[ ...But also, she does love physical activity. ]

Aw, what the heck, I can shower. Sure.
reassuranceandrevolution: (Odins world must burn)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-10 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sigyn smiles. It's a bit more harsh than usual]

You know how to throw a punch?

[She moves back towards the dummy]
isawallflower: (if i'd only made it 📣)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-10 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That's fine! Riley's smile in return is a bit too practiced to be genuine. ]

Uhhh. Not at a person...

[ Karate was yet another hobby she tried that didn't take. ]
reassuranceandrevolution: (But our chains are weapons too)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
No time like the present to learn.

[Sigyn sets up a second dummy next to the first and gets into position]

Here, you want to keep your wrist straight and your thumb tucked down so you don't hurt yourself. Strike with the first two knuckles. [She demonstrates on her dummy going slower than she was when Riley came in]
isawallflower: (when i realized)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
[ Riley inches forward and tries to mimic the position. ]

Why with the first two knuckles? What if you accidentally strike with all your knuckles?
reassuranceandrevolution: (Sharpen your knives)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Good. Try to rotate your hips to help put some momentum in it.

[Sigyn demonstrates]

The others will end up making contact. If you focus making contact with those knuckles it keeps your wrist in a better position.
isawallflower: (you start to realize)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Mimicking her movements. If there's one thing Riley's pretty good at, it's following along with physical activity. ]

Oh! So, it's to prevent injury? Okay. That makes sense. Like, uh, like this?

[ A slow approximation of a punch, not making contact with anything. ]
reassuranceandrevolution: (Sharpen your knives)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You're a fast learner. Try against the dummy. [Sigyn demonstrates again, still at a slower pace, but this time actually connecting with the dummy.]

Doesn't have to be hard, go at your own pace.
isawallflower: (or just at least show)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She flashes a quick smile. ] I wouldn't be a very good athlete if I couldn't follow a demonstration, now, right?

[ A slow breath, and then she, at the same slow pace, starts punching the dummy. Not really aiming anywhere? Just like, the chest. ]
reassuranceandrevolution: (We strike tonight)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent. If you're ever in a real fight think to hit softer areas, like the cheek or stomach. Harder targets like the chest will hurt you more than them.

isawallflower: (but do you wanna settle?)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She adjusts for that, speeding up a little. ]

What if someone's taller or bigger than me? They'd take a lot more to go down, right?
reassuranceandrevolution: (Sharpen your knives)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true. If you hit them just under the ribs it should at least stun them. Remember, your goal in a fight is to get away, not to beat the other person down. If you can incapacitate them long enough to run, do it.
isawallflower: (if one more year could last forever...)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if they could chase me?

[ Where would the ribs be on a mannequin? Riley punches at the approximation. Huh, this is...actually kind of nice, why didn't she ever try boxing? ]
reassuranceandrevolution: (Our freedom and our vengeance)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you hit them again. Breaking their nose is always a good way to distract someone.
isawallflower: (this time i will be stronger)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
How do you break someone's nose?
reassuranceandrevolution: (But our chains are weapons too)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Shove the heel of your palm upward, so it connects like this. [She turns sideways and demonstrates the positioning on her own nose.]

isawallflower: (i don't wanna wonder 📣)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She tries to at least mimic the movement. ]

Do I need to have a lot of force behind it?
reassuranceandrevolution: https://thecolorsdukethecolors.dreamwidth.org/287.html (We've nothing but our shackles)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends how sturdy they are. I tend to err on the side of more force.
isawallflower: (when i realized)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-11 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there such a thing as too much? I...don't really have a metric for this.
reassuranceandrevolution: https://thecolorsdukethecolors.dreamwidth.org/287.html (In the face of Asgard's scorn)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-11 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, hard enough and you can jam a piece of bone into their brain.

[She sounds way too nonchalant about this]

But that takes a lot of force.
isawallflower: (i don't wanna wonder 📣)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-12 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ And she pauses. ]

Oh. Like. Ohh. Yeah, I don't...think I could do that.
reassuranceandrevolution: (Our freedom and our vengeance)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-12 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
You might be surprised what you can do in the heat of things.
isawallflower: (if one more year could last forever...)

[personal profile] isawallflower 2020-07-12 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
...I'll have to...be careful, I guess. I don't...really want to...you know. Kill anyone.
reassuranceandrevolution: (Default)

[personal profile] reassuranceandrevolution 2020-07-12 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
You won't. [Sigyn gives the first real smile she's shown all day] You're a good person, Riley. You'll know when the time comes how much force to use.
