Even if they could chase me?

[ Where would the ribs be on a mannequin? Riley punches at the approximation. Huh, this is...actually kind of nice, why didn't she ever try boxing? ]

Then you hit them again. Breaking their nose is always a good way to distract someone.

How do you break someone's nose?

[reassuranceandrevolution]

Shove the heel of your palm upward, so it connects like this. [She turns sideways and demonstrates the positioning on her own nose.]

[ She tries to at least mimic the movement. ]

Do I need to have a lot of force behind it?

[reassuranceandrevolution]

Depends how sturdy they are. I tend to err on the side of more force.

[isawallflower]

Is there such a thing as too much? I...don't really have a metric for this.

[reassuranceandrevolution]

I mean, hard enough and you can jam a piece of bone into their brain.

[She sounds way too nonchalant about this]

But that takes a lot of force.

[ And she pauses. ]

Oh. Like. Ohh. Yeah, I don't...think I could do that.

You might be surprised what you can do in the heat of things.

...I'll have to...be careful, I guess. I don't...really want to...you know. Kill anyone.

You won't. [Sigyn gives the first real smile she's shown all day] You're a good person, Riley. You'll know when the time comes how much force to use.

[isawallflower]

[ The smile that Riley gives her back doesn't quite reach her eyes. ]

You're sure of that? Even though...we just met, a week and some change ago?

[reassuranceandrevolution]

[Sigyn shrugs]

I've had to get good at reading people pretty quick. You can tell a lot about someone from living in close proximity with them for almost two solid weeks.

[isawallflower]

[ Riley's quiet for a moment. It seems silly. Stupid, even, to say. But she looks more openly like a kid than she has, thus far. Even more than when Sigyn found her obsessing over that trophy. ]

...Thank you. [ That's weird to say, but- ] I, um. Thanks.

[reassuranceandrevolution]

Thank you, Riley.

[She opens her arms up] Hug?

[isawallflower]

[ She doesn't say anything. But, she shuffles forward with a little nod, and something soft and warm fills her up. ]

[reassuranceandrevolution]

[Sigyn wraps Riley in a strong hug. If Riley seems uncomfortable with the situation, Sigyn won't make it a very long hug. If she allows, though, Sigyn will continue to hug her as she speaks]

While the situation is not ideal, I am very glad we were able to meet.

[isawallflower]

[ Uncomfortable isn't the word to describe it. Unaccustomed is more the atmosphere. Riley's arms barely reach up to return the hug, but they do. She shuts her eyes, tight, and drinks in the moment. ]

...Me too. [ Her voice is soft and far away. But it's happy. ]
