No Backward Glances

Today is the day of the promised grand finale. And, strangely, nothing about the Opera seems especially different this morning. The theatre doors remain locked. There's no smell of blood in the air, no trashed rooms, and no dead bodies to find. In the lobbies, the crystal chandeliers are still in their places, not swung about by any mysterious force.

But there's little things. It may take a while to notice, but the lock on one of the doors in the second floor lobby - the one leading to Boxes 5 through 8 - is missing. Should anyone try it, it opens easily and without a sound.

Meanwhile, down on the first floor, the graffiti on the box office walls has once again been cleaned up. In the process, it seems, the box office door was left slightly ajar.

[Seymour was just about to go to the garden to give one last goodbye. However, he couldn't help but notice that the locked door was just... suddenly missing a lock.

Eh, the garden isn't that important. Audrey would have preferred him to find a way out of here rather than mope about her death.]

Hey, I think this door is open now?

[Before he really waits for a response, he pushes the door open and takes peek inside of it. Surely it can't be anything bad, right?

you know what, if you want to take one for the team here you be his guest, actually, he'll be in the general vicinity but if you want to find the death traps that may be in there that'd be swell]

[Look, he's already dead! What's the worst that could happen?]

[Good news, nothing exploded! Bad news is it's dark in there.]

[Well at least Seymour didn't instantly Bad End the game but wow, that's dark.

He turns around towards the other people.]

Um, does anyone have a light?

[Winslow catches up to the group, on the tail of Seymour, when he sees the darkness in the strange room.]

...I have this tape. It glows in the dark.

...Has it occurred to anyone to try to find a way to bring the lights up or something first?

[PATTING THE WALL NEARBY THE DOOR FOR LIGHT SWITCHES...]

[Bless you, Billy The, for having the most common sense in the opera house. There's a switch on the wall just near the door.]

[Flipping that switch!]

[The light illuminates a very short hallway. There are four doors with gold plaques on them reading Box 5, Box 6, Box 7, and Box 8.

Three of the doors are closed but the door to Box 5 is ajar.]

You... didn't see that. You can't prove anything

Oh hey, that door's open.

[Brillaint observation there.

He's just going to head to the Box 5 door and look inside.]

[It's a beautiful theatre box, decorated in much the same way as the court room. Gold accents, plush red velvet, the works.

But while there's space for at least four chairs there's only one in the box. It's pulled up right to the edge of the box and on the floor next to it is something long wrapped in a blanket.]

[While Seymour's checking that out, the Pirate King is going to try the door to Box 6. Is it locked?]

[JUST GONNA TAKE A WILD GUESS HERE AND ASSUME THAT BOX EIGHT IS ALSO LOCKED but you know what, no harm in being thorough and checking anyway.]

[Also the fact he's dead so if there's a death trap it would be the most okay for him to be harmed by the trap.

He looks over at Winslow for the tape.]

[Raoul had been passing by on his way to the tea room, but Seymour's observation had caught his attention - not to mention the fact that he recognizes, after a moment, that the door leads to theater boxes.

I shall watch the performance from my normal seat in Box 5, which will be kept empty for me.]

- Seymour! Hold on, let me join you!

[He waves at Raoul.]

Oh, Raoul. It... probably is a good idea that I don't go alone, in case something happens.
