OVERTURE
You wake up, and realize you don’t remember how you got here.
This bed is soft and warm, but it’s certainly not yours. And the room is unfamiliar - unless perhaps you’re an actor, seeing as it looks almost exactly like every dressing room in the world. It's not quite large enough to fit the bed and trunk comfortably alongside the vanity, but it what it lacks in open space, it makes up for in coziness. This could be something you’ve seen in a movie, or dreamed about experiencing one day. But whatever the case, you aren’t supposed to be here.
There’s a silver key resting on your vanity, along with a thin program booklet. The cover - where the name of the show would usually be - is blank, but if you flip through it, you’ll find some startlingly familiar information. Maybe a few familiar faces as well…
The hallway outside is narrow and poorly-lit, lined with star-studded doors. But if you make your way past them and out into the lobby, you’ll find something entirely different: an elegant, refined opera house. Crystal chandeliers glitter overhead, and the red carpet is perfect for putting on a show. A large clock on the northern wall marks the time, though with the windows shuttered and locked it's difficult to tell whether it's morning or night. There’s also some framed information pinned up that you might find helpful. If you explore further into the adjoining wings, in fact, you'll see there's an identical copy in every room.
There’s also two sets of double-doors in the lobby: one leading back the way you came, deeper into the Opera House, and one leading out. For the moment, neither of them will open.
It looks like you’re stuck. But hey - at least you aren’t alone.

D-ne looks a little confused for a moment.] I...I thought that would be obvious, given where we woke up, and-
[It clicks in her head and her eyes widen, and she begins furiously shaking her head with a nervous smile.]
O-oh, no no no, I was simply referring to here, the group of us! Please, put any thing else out of your mind, it's okay!
no subject
Good. Because I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure the last thing we need are distractions like...whatever we were taken away from right now.
no subject
Ah... Yes, we must focus on the events at hand, hm? [At least she's calmed...] Like why we're here, who's to blame... Those sort of more important things, yes?
no subject
Exactly, Miss...
[Playbill, where is the playbill- ...what the hell is that.]
...Anyway. You don't remember anything about getting here?
no subject
D-ne gets the hint and gently bows her head.] D-ne, my name is D-ne, and no, I don't. Prior to arriving here, I was simply going to visit a friend, nothing related to any sort of theater.
no subject
And you're not injured or anything, right?
[Again, it's asked more for pragmatic reasons than concern, but still.]
no subject
No, I'm completely unharmed.
[Frankly that kind of honesty is refreshing, tbh]
...You as well?
[She seems to ask that as an afterthought.]
no subject
Not a scratch on me, kid. So whoever brought us here probably didn't do it while we were kicking and screaming.
no subject
But at the, ah, same time, I can't see myself agreeing to such an arrangement... We were drugged, perhaps?
no subject
no subject
...you know, not exactly, but it wouldn't be impossible.
no subject
...Actually, I'm in a similar boat. It'd be possible, but it'd be difficult, and I don't think my secretary's that kind of person.

I was with a client before all of this happened, but he left before all this happened and he didn't touch anything but what he handed over.
no subject
Well, it's always possible for otherworldly forces to be at play too, so who really knows what could have happened to us.
[....why are you just SAYING that]
no subject
[WELL, OKAY THEN.]
