WEEK 4
[Another week has passed in the opera house and things are looking grim as ever. With Gabe and Hime gone, the performers are down to 16 of them.

On Monday, the opera house is still heavily decorated with a few new additions. There are more cottony cobwebs, a few small ghosts hanging from the ceiling made of cheesecloth, even more pumpkins here and there. A few more candy bowls have been set out in places like the dining room and a few others and only a few of them are only filled with candy corn. In the dressing rooms the stars on Gabe and Hime's doors have fallen off, leaving behind a patch of star-shaped wood slightly lighter than the rest of the doors on Hime's and a different star underneath on Gabe's.

Like the previous week, the door on in the second floor lobby is unlocked and a new floor is ready to be explored. Have a good week, everyone.]

[She walks in the kitchen to get something to eat at one point, and while she hesitates upon seeing who's in there... Well, it isn't like they can avoid each other forever.]

What is that?

[dechagny]

[Ah...it's Natalie. Raoul does his best not to flinch, fully expecting her to be barbed and angry and cold like at the trial. Really, she has every right, she's probably mourning, and he's expecting it. When that doesn't come, though, he takes a breath, determined to be calm and kind and courteous.

He's not proud of having to vote for her brother. He doesn't agree with her shutting herself out from the concern of others. But he will happily share his culinary experiments with everyone.]

The cookbooks have told me it is a "Frosted Ribbon Loaf". It looks and sounds sort of like a sandwich cake, so I decided it would be a fitting dish to make.

Sandwich cake... That's an interesting combination.

[She can act like everything is normal. She can do this.]

There are cookbooks here?

[dechagny]

There are a few in the library.

[Maybe like one shelf in a bookcase?]

I thought if it took the form of a cake, but was actually a sandwich, it would be more fitting for a suppertime meal.

So it's, like... Sweet, but it also has meat in it?

...How about you try it first.

[dechagny]

No no, the bread is regular bread, so it is savory.

[Aiight, he can try it first. Raoul cuts a slice for himself, putting it on a little plate and fishing out a small fork from the utensil drawer. He cuts off a piece, takes a bite...

He's chewing. Thoughtfully.]

The taste is...interesting. Mostly from the creamed cheese. The rest simply tastes of a sandwich with ham and eggs.

So... If the bread is normal and it has meat and cheese and everything, what part of it makes it like a cake?

[dechagny]

It is layered like a cake, and frosted similarly to one as well, and it is also sliced like one.

[Taking another bite and just. Taking some of that cream cheese and spreading it more evenly on the food so he gets a little with each bite. Hmmm!]

Does it actually taste decent? It sounds... I don't know.

[dechagny]

...It is most certainly not the worst thing I have ever eaten.

[robitussin]

Well, that's a ringing endorsement if I ever heard one.

[dechagny]

You would be surprised what bored schoolboys dare each other to do during their breaks.

[Bored, rich schoolboys are by law little pissants and sadists to each other. Raoul is glad he grew out of it.]

[robitussin]

Oh, I really doubt I would be.

[dechagny]

...Even so, I shudder to even think back to those sort of schoolboy dares. I would happily eat one hundred of these loaves over licking the sole of the Headmaster's boots.

[Raoul that's some pretty weak shit you know that right]

[robitussin]

The Headmaster let you lick his boots?

[dechagny]

Oh no, you had to take the boots while he was preoccupied elsewhere. It was part of the dare.

[robitussin]

Did he ever catch you? Oh, man, I would pay to see that.

[dechagny]

Me? Ah...yes, once. But then again, I only did it once because once was more than enough.

[robitussin]

So... The one time you tried it, he caught you, basically.

[dechagny]

On the contrary, he only caught me the one time - I learned from my mistakes the next time, and then promptly decided afterwards that I would make someone else go through the entire dare themselves from then on.

[robitussin]

Revenge boot licking. Nice.

[dechagny]

It was a sweet revenge indeed. But, ah, when one is an adult, there is no need for such things.

[Now you just challenge a fucker to a duel]

[robitussin]

So what happens when you're an adult?

[dechagny]

Civil disagreements, mostly. Duels, too, if things grow heated, but never to the point where you have to inflict injury on someone.

[robitussin]

I mean... Doesn't a duel necessarily mean inflicting injury on someone?
