week 4

WEEK 4

[Another week has passed in the opera house and things are looking grim as ever. With Gabe and Hime gone, the performers are down to 16 of them.

On Monday, the opera house is still heavily decorated with a few new additions. There are more cottony cobwebs, a few small ghosts hanging from the ceiling made of cheesecloth, even more pumpkins here and there. A few more candy bowls have been set out in places like the dining room and a few others and only a few of them are only filled with candy corn. In the dressing rooms the stars on Gabe and Hime's doors have fallen off, leaving behind a patch of star-shaped wood slightly lighter than the rest of the doors on Hime's and a different star underneath on Gabe's.

Like the previous week, the door on in the second floor lobby is unlocked and a new floor is ready to be explored. Have a good week, everyone.]

allicareabout: (SHRUG Δ honey we're all half-centaur)

I know you are. And I figure you've had enough of people trying to insist that you're not, so I'm not going to join in the chorus, there.

Hopefully it's slightly less annoying if I just ask you what you're reading.
robitussin: (you're growing up unstable)

Oh... Uh, yeah. It's To Kill a Mockingbird. You ever heard of it? You'd probably like it, it's about a lawyer.
allicareabout: (GENDO Δ get on the witness stand andy)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-02 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Never heard of it.

[...Granted, he kind of predates the novel by almost 40 years.]

Maybe I'll give it a look when you're done with it; there are a few legal drama things in here, but nothing that's caught my eye yet.
robitussin: (when i thought you might be dying)

It's pretty famous where I'm from. Most schools make you read it at least once.

Not a fan of any other kind of books?
allicareabout: (INFORM Δ look if jesus christ had $5000)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-02 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been looking at what they've got here once in a while; Anna's interested in romance novels, she had me looking over all of that last week.

[Never mind that she was interested in the first place because she came across him reading Absolute Filth, that is beside the point.]

A lot of things have changed since 1924, let's put it that way.
robitussin: (and every time)

[personal profile] robitussin 2016-11-03 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. I thought you would be the type who has, like, zero tolerance for something like that.

[She looks amused for a moment, even if it's a bit forced.]

Jesus, I bet. A lot more than the creation of washing machines has gone down. Have you found any books on the history you've missed?
allicareabout: (EHHH Δ it's not going to pay for itself)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-03 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Not that I'm surprised by it, but there's not all that much by way of nonfiction around here. Unless you're really interested in medical texts or books about war, anyway.

It'd probably be giving too much away about this place. Not that I'm likely to recognize too much of it, nor would a good amount of the others.

[It's either going to be way the hell forwards or too far backwards, depending on which half of the group we're talking about, but either way the point stands and judging from the electronics around here...well, we're probably talking way the hell forwards.]
robitussin: (when i thought you might be dying)

[personal profile] robitussin 2016-11-03 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's true. Besides... Even if there were, I'm not sure which history it would be describing, since there are people from way different places here.
allicareabout: (ACTUALLY Δ *your)

[personal profile] allicareabout 2016-11-08 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know about you, but I'd probably find the history of Hell to actually be worthwhile reading. Just taking a guess.

[I mean, he could always ask Jez about it, but really.]
robitussin: (feel like i feel too)

[personal profile] robitussin 2016-11-08 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
What, because this place isn't morbid enough already?
