don't stop believing
[It's a pleasant afternoon in the garden. Maybe not emotionally, but physically - isn't it nice when you get to have class outside?
As your voices rise, singing defiance in unison out for the Wizard, there's no immediate response; at least, nothing that clearly is a response. But there's something. Amidst the sound of your song, it may be hard to hear at first; Janis will likely be the first to notice, but eventually everyone is able to hear. It sounds as though other voices are rising along with yours.
There's something on the air - no music, or at least no instrumentals, just a disembodied sort of lyrical chant. You don't recognize any of the voices. They aren't singing the same song as you all are. Maybe they can't; they sound long long ago, and far far away now. Still - despite everything - the trees around you move lightly in a sudden soft breeze. It feels as though you have invoked something, old and entirely beyond your knowledge.
But first. Haven't you forgotten something?
It's Wednesday.
Welcome to this week's school club!]

WHO ELSE IS ON THAT BUS ]

I'M A FULLY REALIZED BEING WITH A NAME, BANANA!
[Jeremy sighs, looking fondly exasperated.]
Heyyyyy, Nana. [Very. Pointed. Look.] Wanna explain where the hell you've been for ohhhhhh I don't know! An entire year?

She anxiously looks off when Jeremy gives her that look. ]
Oh... w-well... you see I've been a bit busy...
......................................trying to track down the Wizard.

[He sounds upset, but like. Mostly because he thought they were all closer than that!!! You didn't even text or call!!!! NANA YOU GHOSTED THEM ALL FOR A YEAR!!!!!]

I-It wasn't by myself! I left with the Leading Player and the troupe! And I couldn't tell anyone, it would have been spoilers!!
[ But even with that explanation she still feels the weight of guilt - especially when she thinks about how everyone is at Denny's apparently. ]
And I also just... didn't want any of you to try and stop me or put your own lives on hold... or worry too much about me.
[ Bit late for that though once they realized she wasn't around. ]

[He spends. So much time hanging out with Beetlejuice. Like, an inadvisable amount of time hanging out with Beetlejuice.]
Anyway, did you, like. Get him? Who even was he? [A beat.] Was it a fourth SQUIP?
[HE HAS TO ASK, OK.]
no subject
He was... just a guy. A guy whose original world had become...
[ She takes a deep breath. ]
...An endless timeloop.

[Only looking a little worse for wear. BJ is many things, but a good driver isn’t one of them.]
Your hair looks cute.

[ Oh. Oh no.
She freezes completely in place, momentarily at a loss for words seeing one of her dearest friends again for the first time in a year - one that she went through all this with and then saw off back to her own point in time before just... leaving. ]
Clau-chan...
[ Nana always had some regrets about going off when she did and about not being able to tell anyone. But Claudine was always the biggest one.
Which was why she now finds herself bowing deeply. ]
I'm so sorry...!

[she doesn’t finish her sentence. She doesn’t need to, not when her voice cracks.]
Don’t. Not to me. Just tell me what happened.

...The Leading Player. I've been with the Leading Player. She was going to keep trying to stop the Wizard and I... decided to go with her.
I've been traveling with her troupe, going to so many other "shows" and trying to keep them from going off the rails. I've met all sorts of other narrators, and have even felt myself changing a little.
[ It was a bit like hanging out with the Giraffe now that she thinks about it but not quite so lonely. ]
...And then I was summoned here. When the dead wanted someone to come help their friends, I was able to get through and evade the Wizard's eye for a few weeks.
That's... the short version of it anyway. I know... I know I've worried you all but...
This was... something I felt like I had to do.

Claudine pulls Nana into a tight hug, tears in her eyes.]
It’s okay. It’s okay. You did the right thing. I’m so proud of you. I'm so proud of you, Nana. My sister.
[She’s crying, but they aren’t sad tears. They’re tears of pure pride, and a bond as bright as the stars.]

...That's right. She's had family all along. The dearest friends in the world who she knew better than herself, the entirety of round 2, LP, and now round 3 as well.
She had so many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and mentors.
She never needed a Wizard. She's not even sure why she ever thought otherwise.
Something about that realization hits her hard, and she's clinging tightly to Claudine, tears streaming down her face. ]
Th... Thank you. Thank you, Claudine.
I love you so much.
[ Hearing her say that, call her that... it means everything. ]
no subject
I love you, too. I’m really glad you are okay.
[She’ll just hug Nana tighter.]
I got your message? At least I think it was from you, with everyone singing? I knew you needed help, so I got the girls together and we sang our hearts out.
