don't stop believing

[Streetlights, reveals] | [Vision Statements] | [Mass Resolution: CONNECT] | [A little touch of the sun (Revival)] | [They do this bullshit like 8 times a week (Rescue)]

[It's a pleasant afternoon in the garden. Maybe not emotionally, but physically - isn't it nice when you get to have class outside?

As your voices rise, singing defiance in unison out for the Wizard, there's no immediate response; at least, nothing that clearly is a response. But there's something. Amidst the sound of your song, it may be hard to hear at first; Janis will likely be the first to notice, but eventually everyone is able to hear. It sounds as though other voices are rising along with yours.

There's something on the air - no music, or at least no instrumentals, just a disembodied sort of lyrical chant. You don't recognize any of the voices. They aren't singing the same song as you all are. Maybe they can't; they sound long long ago, and far far away now. Still - despite everything - the trees around you move lightly in a sudden soft breeze. It feels as though you have invoked something, old and entirely beyond your knowledge.

But first. Haven't you forgotten something?

It's Wednesday.

Welcome to this week's school club!]

[ She raises up and just... looks so guilty. She's struggling to keep herself from crying. ]

...The Leading Player. I've been with the Leading Player. She was going to keep trying to stop the Wizard and I... decided to go with her.

I've been traveling with her troupe, going to so many other "shows" and trying to keep them from going off the rails. I've met all sorts of other narrators, and have even felt myself changing a little.

[ It was a bit like hanging out with the Giraffe now that she thinks about it but not quite so lonely. ]

...And then I was summoned here. When the dead wanted someone to come help their friends, I was able to get through and evade the Wizard's eye for a few weeks.

That's... the short version of it anyway. I know... I know I've worried you all but...

This was... something I felt like I had to do.

[Claudine nods, listening to Nana. Once she’s finished, she pulls her friend — no. That’s not right. That’s her sister, as far as she’s concerned. Sharing a stage had made them friends. Everything they had been through made them family.

Claudine pulls Nana into a tight hug, tears in her eyes.]

It’s okay. It’s okay. You did the right thing. I’m so proud of you. I'm so proud of you, Nana. My sister.

[She’s crying, but they aren’t sad tears. They’re tears of pure pride, and a bond as bright as the stars.]

[ It's not what Nana was expecting. She was expecting a lecture, or questions about why she couldn't say anything. But when Claudine hugs her, call her her sister...

...That's right. She's had family all along. The dearest friends in the world who she knew better than herself, the entirety of round 2, LP, and now round 3 as well.

She had so many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and mentors.

She never needed a Wizard. She's not even sure why she ever thought otherwise.

Something about that realization hits her hard, and she's clinging tightly to Claudine, tears streaming down her face. ]

Th... Thank you. Thank you, Claudine.

I love you so much.

[ Hearing her say that, call her that... it means everything. ]

[The questions can come later. Claudine is just glad that Nana is safe and sound.]

I love you, too. I’m really glad you are okay.

[She’ll just hug Nana tighter.]

I got your message? At least I think it was from you, with everyone singing? I knew you needed help, so I got the girls together and we sang our hearts out.
