A night that’s lasted 7 long weeks but this is the end.

When all is said and done for the players, the two SQUIPs in their new bodies and the two out of place Narrators, it’s time to finally leave. Once everyone has gathered what they want from their rooms, the other floors or even the merch booth that Michael broke into, the Leading Player leads them out the doors. Something important to note is how much lighter it is outside than it has ever been before. On the horizon the sky has cracks of oranges and yellows and purples of a sunrise. She leads the group through the previously night-shrouded gardens and cemetery then finally through the gates to…]



[As promised, it’s the Return of the Liminal Denny’s! They might even find some familiar but confused faces waiting for them there along with some strangers.

The Leading Player herself doesn’t stick around long and opts not to come inside, but she’ll remain in the parking lot for a little while before taking her leave. Don’t worry about getting home- she has you covered.

After their grand slams have been slammed and goodbyes have been said everyone will be free to leave the liminal space that is this strange inter-dimensional Denny's and find themselves exactly where they want to be.

But right now as they stand in the parking lot, taking in this new location with your found family tropes, you watch the morning glow of the sun as it rises over the Denny’s sign.]

[So this is new. Sigyn just sort of stands in the parking lot as everyone else files in. She's hungry (as one might be after being dead for 5 weeks), but she doesn't make a move to go inside quite yet.


After a certain someone shows up, though, she will happily join the others in the Denny's where she will do her best to eat her body weight in greasy, delicious breakfast foods.]

[Everything is...well, she doesn't quite know how to feel. It was near the end, she remembers that. She remembers Sigyn's hand in hers, her wife's other hand tenderly touching her face as the train began to slow-

Now Loki is here, standing in the open air with her feet flat on the ground. No train, no Bifrost...no Sigyn. She doesn't know what's happening or where she is and anyone watching will just see a very tall, haunted-looking woman with long red hair thinly streaked with silver slowly looking around the parking lot, perplexed.

Then she sees Sigyn, and all the confusion and sadness falls away in an instant.​]

[Honestly, Mephisto thought he was overwhelmed in the Opera House, but this is a lot of stuff coming really damn fast. He squirrels himself away in a booth very quickly, keeping his head down and, at first, ordering nothing more than a water and wine.

... The wine is awful, actually. And after awhile he'll start bemoaning that more than anything else.

Eventually he'll flutter around to people he's known. Checking on them. He'll even step out into the parking lot to catch his breath and collect his thoughts. Occasionally he looks to the sky, like he's waiting for someone. Something.

His wings flicker out for a moment. Just for a second, he dares to hope. He beats them once but -- a sharp pain reminds him that it's not just his loss of divinity keeping him from flight.

That's fine. There are still good things here. Lightning doesn't strike him, and life continues on, Mephisto returns looking just a little lighter on his feet. He orders himself a feast of pancakes, eggs, and whatever meats he can get.

He also tries a milkshake. Because he can.

It'll all be okay.]

Hey Mephistooooooooo~ [The Demon's Beloved Sister is in rather high spirits. She, unfortunately, has no concept of restaurant, or booth etiquite however-- instead of asking Mephisto to move so she can get into the other side of the booth, she sets her milkshake and wine down and just kindof. Clambers across him to sit down.]

So this is Denny's! Life is so exciting, already!

[ So. Here we are.


Before coming to the Liminal Denny's, Riley grabs a few things, first and foremost...the teddy bear left at her grave. So, she's got that with her. And...well, it seems someone has helped her with with her hair, braiding in some sparkly flowers and bows. It's a little uneven but she seems to like it.

For most of the time there, Riley can be found sticking close to her...well, her family, or just kind of sitting in a booth, stressed as always but...well, relaxed for her, at least.

It's weird, being in a place other than the opera house? At one point she muses: ] I never thought I'd miss greasy diner food.

[ And, at some point...

She's sitting outside on the curb. Breathing in the early morning air. The real night air, looking up at the real sky. She's subdued, that's for sure. And a bit nervous. Her arms prick with goosebumps, despite it not really being that cold. ]

There's only one more night,
so here goes...

[ But, she's alive. She's here, with people she loves, who love her. That counts for something. That has to count for something. ]

[Anne joins her on the curb later that evening, significantly cheerier than anyone should be after this long a day.]

[Dear Denny's, I'm sorry, Anne of Cleves has never been to a restaurant in either of her three two lives. She's skipping, singing, laughing the whole way there-- in fact, she'll grab anyone she can and try and get them to dance with her, spinning or just getting down in general. The parking lot is basically a whole impromptu dance concert, and she's sometimes singing Get Down, but also sometimes just blaring her airhorn, and she's got her portrait hanging out with her like it's her slightly less attractive twin.

Inside the restaurant she's slightly more behaved, but only barely. She's not airhorning at the moment, but it's with her, and while she looks like she's considering hanging the portrait up in the Denny's, she decides against it, and just kind of. Lets the portrait hang out in its own chair. She's infectiously cheery, has no concept of personal space anymore, and aside from the slight disappointment that pancake puppies are not pancakes shaped like puppies, she may just be the happiest queen in the universe right now. Sippin on cheap, awful Denny's wine, she might even be heard singing--]

[Lion is curled into the seemingly too-small space beneath the table, gnawing at the meat from a thoroughly demolished plate of steak and eggs.]

[Hime stares. She blinks a few times, hides behind her menu, and then slowly peeks out from around it again.]

[ It had been almost 2 months since Richard went missing, no one had seen him leave or knew where he was and Roberta is at her wits end. When she finds him she doesn't know if she's going to kiss him, or kill him (both? maybe both, depending on his explanation.)

She was going just crazy enough that when a mysterious woman appeared and told her that going into the woman's restroom at the Enchanted Forest would take her to Richard she actually listened.

Now she's in a strange place, surrounded by stranger people, and is just starting to think this might all be a trick.]

[Anna knows that name! But... not the person calling it. Ugh. She's always cleaning up men's messes, isn't she? She sighs, shoulders drooping as she turns to face this mystery woman.]

[Christine isn't as surprised by the appearance of a Denny's as others. Diners are common in New Jersey, for one, and she's quite familiar with the time honoured tradition of late night cast parties.

She usually is a little more enthusiastic about those, though. She does order a stack of chocolate chip pancakes, and while she's waiting in a booth, she just... slowly lets her eyes fall closed.

By the time her pancakes are ready, she's completely slumped over the table. Someone might need to poke her.

After her little power nap, though, she'll wander around, sipping at a milkshake and looking at the artwork, which so far seems pretty typical, even for a Denny's out of space and time. She approaches with a warm smile and tilts her head curiously.]

[Later on, after some probably unhelpful conversations in that regard, Basically John Wick with a blue heart-shaped gem in its chest will be sitting alone in a booth. It has no food or drink and is not actively attempting to engage with anybody at the moment. It is, in fact, just sort of staring at its hands. Possibly having another existential crisis, who knows.]

[Everything here is unfamiliar, a shock to the system. But it's bright and warm-- and everyone's here together. She sits in a booth with some food, kicking her legs lightly back and forth as she delights over ordering several things off the menu because-- well. Who knows if she'll get another chance like this?]

So this is what a happy ending feels like.

[But once she's fed, her curiosity gets the better of her and she starts to wander to the machines near the entrance. There are little devices that give out little prizes and other games with strange claws dangling over various plush creatures that make her eyes sparkle.]

The world I knew seems so small now. I can't believe all the things I've missed.

[As time drags on though, she does make her way to the parking lot for a moment-- just a bit of quiet. Under her breath a soft, slow song as she sorts out her feelings, looking up at the sky.]

[There are a few things one might notice about the tiny girl nervously looking around the Denny's, clutching a packet of trading cards. The most obvious to her fellow R1s is that she hasn't aged a day since 2016, still a short 13-year-old. The most obvious to anyone else is that she immediately sinks into her booth, takes a deep breath, and slowly sits back up to look nervously around.]

This is a lot of new people... Come on, Hime, you can't get scared anymore! Do you think they have something like the reindeer pancakes they had last time? I mean, this time it's summer, so I guess not, but... Mio, heeeelp.

Later still, she'll be just outside, sitting on the ground and watching the stars. Just as pretty as they've always been.]

Notably, Shilo looks a little different - on her way in, she throws away her wig in the trash can by the entrance (okay, she almost does before tucking it away into her bag instead, but it's pretty much never coming out again!), leaving her with... a month or two of hair, very short and poofy. But you know what? She's about ready to move on.

She can be found sitting in a booth, just kind of... packing away milkshakes. You'd think she had never had one before! She is also very fond of pancakes, it looks like.

Later on, she has a pen and a napkin, and she seems to be... writing? She's very focused, so it's perfectly possible to see before she notices you that it looks like a list of people and what she knows about the worlds they come from.

There is in fact an entry labelled "home" with "GRAVEROBBER" written next to it with a little ":(?" right by it. ]

[Much later, as - like the knights of Smash Mouth always say - the courses keep coming and the courses keep coming and the courses keep coming, he can be found in a booth with Tad Cooper, feeding the little dragon bites off of his plate and trying. A little bit of everything.

(R1s, this is probably not a recent development or, if you haven't seen her in a while, any kind of surprise.)

Later, when Santana starts to get tired, she’ll sit on the concrete, leaning up against the large Denny’s sign. She’s staring at her sword, distantly wondering if she should give it back to Claudine. When she thinks no one’s watching, she’ll murmur to herself: ]

[So after what we can assume was probably several panic attacks upon his resurrection, Evan Hansen is alive, no longer missing, and at a Denny's.

He'll just be sitting off by himself, with a grand slam that he's sort of picking listlessly at. Frankly, he doesn't really deserve a grand slam, but here we all are. He's definitely not going to approach anyone, but if anybody wants to wave through that window back at him or whatever, he'll be around.

You could ask him about some things, even. He's met the Wizard, too.]

From this and his outfit, you can surmise it's probably not the creepy one who was staring into the camera. He seems startled by the surprise amount of people who've appeared since he went into the restroom.]
