WEEK 2
[From the day you arrived on the planet, and blinking, stepped into the sun. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done. Yet, still, the whole thing seems...monotonous. Surely there must be some excitement, some showmanship, some sort of plot twist that could keep this show moving onward?

There is also a reason for courage - to stand up against what might kill us and prove that it cannot!

[Putting a cap's worth of that neato detergent stuff in here, closing the lid, turning the knob...to the lowest setting. Which will not properly rinse all the clothes he's put in there.]

What about...an activity we could all do together? Something active, requiring concentration, but on the task at hand and not ill topics...

Um, sure, but I didn't say courage is a bad thing. Just that never being scared isn't the best idea.

[She glances towards the washer.]

[Raoul nods. Of course - there's a confidentiality between a man of the cloth and any other man, when it comes to confessions. But, also, he'll listen as you talk. He nods, he knows Aisne, though he has not been there before, especially so long ago. Valjean really is from France's near past, isn't he?

As he listens, Raoul's expression shifts slightly - not to disgust or outrage, or even pity. It's more...an understanding within himself. He's known, superficially at least, that not everyone lives the kind of life he does. That there are means which many men stoop to survive, and means which they are punished. But...]

Five years...you were given five years over a single loaf of bread?

[You can kind of hear this in his tone.]

[In general, Seymour isn't doing anything especially interesting today, if only because the boredom was really starting to get to him. It's to the point where he spends a few good hours today just staring off into space.

However, he did also get coins today, so he decided it would be a good opportunity to head to the lobby and see if he can get anything to escape with. Or at least something of use.

Frankly Seymour was a little disappointed with the results.]

I thought this thing would give you something more interesting than this...

[Perhaps "interesting" was a bad word for this. This stuff certainly was interesting, but nothing really useful.

He does seem a little interested in that meat pie though. Examining as if to check if it's poison just by sight.]

B-ko-chan's... She gets so lively when there's a rumor to look into, in a way I never thought I'd see her. If she loves something so much, of course it makes sense to try and see what draws her.

[Seymour jumps nearly a foot in the air when Winslow taps his shoulder. He whips around in shock before he realizes that it was just Winslow.]

O-oh, hey, Winslow.

[Oh yeah he wondered where that came from.]

Just this girl I know from home. I know it's only been a week, but it's weird not seeing her every day.

I'm just saying I expected our kidnapper to be a lot more hostile to us. He doesn't seem too eager to have us kill each other, anyway?

[That sounds pretty hard to eat from his perspective, but hey he'll try to help.

And Winslow begins the task of sticking his nose in the air, getting the smell of anything. Which honestly, looks like a metal woodpecker poking around in the kitchen.]

[He has that effect, honestly. Winslow writes on his clipboard.

"Do you think we'll be here that long?"]

[That's a lot to take in...for one he didn't expect the devil to look so...so...Faustian. Never thought he'd get to meet the devil.

As soon as he keeps himself from swooning, he wrote:

"Maybe you and your dad could come see my version of Faust when we escape?"]

[ Okay, that sounded like maybe Hans should be worried. ]

You aren't truly considering it, are you Astarte?

I suppose since we've proven ourselves to be quite capable of just waiting, they figured we needed an extra incentive to take things into our own hands.

[ He'd say this is a better alternative to threats but maybe next time they'll use that and blame it on him again. ]

I would say so. He sang about how he was glad to be safe... but he sounded sad that he couldn't be part of the "play" so to speak. I think he's always been kind of an observer.

We can only hope.
