Maybe? He's a science person, but um. I don't - I don't know if he needs equipment? To, uh. Tell. [He squints at the filling.] But it's definitely not. Not beef.

I'm throwing this out.

[He will not take the risk, and he will not allow anyone else to consume the pie. Angus dunks it into the bin in the corner and kicks it away. Never again will he attempt to eat it!]

There! We can make our own meat pies!

Yeah! [A beat.] Do you know how to make a meat pie?

[He doesn't.]

I have only cooked meat over a fire.

...We can always ask the others for advice!

Nana probably knows? She. She's always baking. I'm not sure about anyone else, though.

[Meat pies are still baking, right?]

[They are pies so obviously, yes!]

Good point! We can ask for a recipe for the crust. Sigyn taught me some basics of cooking already, too.

How difficult can it be?

I mean, people. People have been cooking for thousands of years so. It can't. It can't be that hard.

[They're gonna set something on fire, aren't they? It's gonna be like those cooking disaster photos where you don't even know how that happened.]

[Neither of them understand how to work ovens or knead dough, it will be an interesting attempt.]

What kind of meet do you want? Ground beef? I think there’s sauce or vegetables in there. [He thinks very hard to the last beef stew he had eaten.] Carrots. Really small ones.

Oh, beef would be better since uh. Tech. Technically? I can't eat pork and I don't think chicken is really. It gets dry?

[Will he eat pork? Yes. Does he avoid it when there's other options? Also yes.]

Anyway, carrots and like. Peas? Onions, maybe?

I think we have those.

[The thought of real meat is helping make this week not the second-worse one he ever had.]

....Right, I’m already hungry. Can you get a crust recipe and I can look for those ingredients?

[He's just gonna go flag down Nana or ......... really anyone. Basically anyone probably knows more than they do about this except Richard.

Presumably he returns several minutes later with a written recipe.]

Okay, I think. I'm like 90% sure I can follow these instructions.

[He can open a can of pease. That is easy. Now he has one (1) carrot and one (1) onion in each hand, neither which conveniently come in tiny portions. He knows he has to wash and cut them. That he remembers.]

I’ll get the knife and start on these. [Lifts the vegetables before him.] Take your time. Art cannot be rushed.
