More to your original point: it'll be slightly easier to move the laundry machines than one might think, because they are certainly not connected to any vents or anything like that. As it happens, they don't appear to be connected to anything at all.]

[Okay, so it's possible we forgot about pipes. It's connected to pipes. Gotta have water!

Nonetheless, it's sure not plugged into the wall. The machine is on, so it's clearly getting power somehow...the method just isn't quite clear.]

we're guessing that the pipes are more-or-less not feasible for, say, disconnecting and trying to stick one's head through. He's specifically looking for anything that you could shove a small child in to he can fit his head through, really.]

[They're really not that large; it's only a washing machine. You'd probably cause a small flood or something if you disconnected it, anyhow.]

and if this is anything like their's it's maybe enough for a rat to go through but not much bigger but idk how industry dryers work so

all meta text aside that's at least something. so the electricity isn't present, but other things are. He briefly considers Spinel's size, then brushes the thought from his mind- she's not that small, alien nature aside.
