[She gives a little wave back, tilting the photo for Riley to see. It’s not actually a photo—- but rather, the copy of a portrait of a very large man dressed in the most royal Tudor fashion.]

[ A pop sensation, but her ex is... No. No, the puzzle of Anne of Cleves is not something she has the mental fortitude to figure out today. ]

This the, uh, husband?

[You could say the same of the many historians who dismissed her as the worst Queen.]

The very same. Henry. I try not to think of what my life may have been like if I had never met the man. [There's a beat, then she grins at Riley.]

[ If Riley were better at history, she would probably have picked up on something by now. Not So.

Riley returns the grin, a little nervously. ] Only good thing about the guy was his money, huh?

It was for the connections, mostly. The money wasn’t bad. And... this portrait always made him seem like he could have almost been handsome. [She scoots over on the bench, and pats for Riley to sit beside her.]

Who did the phantom show you? A jilted ex, a thriving rival?

[ Oh. Oh, uh, we're gonna... Okay. Riley slides a picture of a girl from her pocket. ]

No, nothing at all like that. Just...a girl from my team. Honestly it's a little insulting.

That is rather disappointing. Perhaps he knew you were too strong to fall for such a thing, and didn't try particularly hard with yours.

[She shrugs, handing off Henry's pic while she examines the girl in the photo]

[ Riley laughs, but it's a bit forced. ] Yeah. Yeah, maybe.

[ She doesn't fucking recognize King Henry because she misses her history spot check. ]

She's just- you know. [ ...Actually- ] Have you ever- in your performances. Has something ever gone...wrong? Like, really wrong?

In one of my performances? [Anne readies herself to say no-- But remembers a time, a long time ago, that was in its own way a performance-- that went terribly wrong.]
