I know you probably, uh. Don't want to talk about it! Which. I don't either, because life is a nightmare and shit. [A beat. Where was he going with this again?] Oh! Anyway I made you, um. I made you a thing? And also can I have this cow plushie?

[He looks at the small papercraft, honestly a little surprised at the craftsmanship. He squeezes it between his thumb and forefinger gently, then nods.]

Ah, yes. Of course. Absolutely. [A beat.] Is it familiar to you?

Not really, I just. Um. It's.

[It's creepy Christiiiiine time again. Jeremy's shoulders slump at that.]

I really wish that would stop happening. It's weird.

The horrors of this place will never cease, will they? [They can both just pretend that didn't happen. It's fine.]

Probably. Probably not. [He blinks and straightens up.] Oh! I almost forgot. It's, um. It's a jumping frog. You, um. You can press down on the back and it'll hop when you let go.

[Technically, he made one of these for everyone. Ariel just happens to be the first one he's handing one too.]

[Well. He has to test that out. He props the door open and makes his way over to his desk. The frog is set down carefully, before being prodded at with an index finger.

And you crafted this yourself? Did you come up with the design?

Oh, no um. It's - you could probably ask Nana or Claudine more about it, but uh. They're good luck charms in Japan. My - Michael and I used to make them for each other before, um. Before an exam or something important.

[What he's saying is that he's giving it to Ariel to prevent a murder through good vibes. That's what he's doing.]

[He picks the frog up and tucks it carefully into his breast pocket. He doesn't believe much in luck, but he'll humor Jeremy.]
