[It's incredible how time passes. When The Law is busy trying to figure out solutions and trying to figure out who is going to murder first (because, truly, in the eyes of The Law it is a question of when and not if), searching around every nook and cranny for interesting things.
The Law may have forgotten to eat dinner. Not lunch, mind you, but it's somewhere around 10 pm and Javert has only just remembered that he should probably actually...eat. So cue Javert attempting to enter the kitchen after 10 pm which is to say, he can't.
