No Backward Glances

Today is the day of the promised grand finale. And, strangely, nothing about the Opera seems especially different this morning. The theatre doors remain locked. There's no smell of blood in the air, no trashed rooms, and no dead bodies to find. In the lobbies, the crystal chandeliers are still in their places, not swung about by any mysterious force.

But there's little things. It may take a while to notice, but the lock on one of the doors in the second floor lobby - the one leading to Boxes 5 through 8 - is missing. Should anyone try it, it opens easily and without a sound.

Meanwhile, down on the first floor, the graffiti on the box office walls has once again been cleaned up. In the process, it seems, the box office door was left slightly ajar.

Oh, I don't know everything about it, but it was this huge ship that crashed into an iceburg and sank. A lot of people died when it happened.

I think it was its maiden voyage, too.

[This is a program booklet. It's laid out very similarly to the ones everyone here received at the beginning of all this, but none of the profiles are the same.

The Villain

Aaron Burr - Male, Stage Age 30+

Burr is a charismatic and smooth politician, Alexander Hamilton's opposite number. Though he shares Hamilton's ambition, his preference for playing it safe causes Hamilton to consistently rise above him, eventually leading to their fateful duel. Must be a versatile and commanding actor, capable of displaying wide emotional range.

Vocal Range: Tenor

A handwritten note at the bottom of the page adds: Defense attorney. Got annoying at the end, but he kept the trials from being complete disasters. Lawyers might be useful.]

Then goes and throws the doors to the wardrobe open first, holding the blow torch out like a flamethrower, and if there's no one (alive or dead) in the wardrobe he'll turn around and go check out the post-its.]
