I used to think I didn’t have anything special to bring. But... seeing Janis, using her snap thing. And Hester. And even Maya—-

I’m a cheerleader. And most of you probably think that means I’m just some dumb, frilly peppy little bitch that rah-rah-rahs about school spirit, but—-

We work and we fight and we train and hustle
We get mani-pedi’s but we’re made of muscle
We got no shot but we work all year for it
We got more balls than the team we cheer for—-

Freedom is getting closer by the minute
And now I’ve gotta
Bring it!

I haven’t—- since I fell, I haven’t really flown. But I know I still can. If we need to get somewhere high up again—- [She tries not to think of B. Tries not to think of the stands laughter. Tries not to think about waking up in the hospital.]

I can do it. I just need someone on the ground, to catch me if I fall. I can show someone how it works. I’m light, and I was—- I am good at it. [Is... this what it feels like, to stand, facing down your greatest fears?]
