Week 7

[Last week, on It's Curtains...boy, that sure was a year-long week, huh?

But despite it all, you've gotten through it with less death than there might have been. Spongebob and Farrah both survived their ill-conceived plan; Maya, with the intervention of Janis and Hester, survived her triple murder. Since the failed execution, there has been no sign of the Wizard or of Hester. It seems like you may have gotten away with that cleanly!

When you wake up on Sunday, you remember everything. All the gaps, the missing pieces, entire chunks of time from back home - they're back and neatly fitted where they should be in your heads. Elle, Orpheus, and Eurydice have also been given graves alongside the others in the garden. These ones were filled in for you; after all, you were all pretty occupied over the weekend.

Other than that...it seems like some unusual posters have been put up around the school. Sounds like something's going to happen this week. You'd better prepare.]

[When Peregrine took the photo, there was nothing out of the ordinary with the lobby. Incidentally, the lobby is open all the way up to the second floor, making it one of the tallest areas in the school. Despite both of these facts, in the photo itself, one of the walls is taken up entirely by a truly massive carving. If Peregrine looks closely, she can see that the marks don't look any different from the others; this was likely made with the same tool. How long would this have taken?

[This photo looks a lot more true to life! Except that you can see the distorted shadow of a figure standing on the perimeter ledge. Given the height of the wall and the angle the picture's at, most of what's visible is just the shape of feet and legs.]

What, uh. Can she tell anything about the person? How tall they may have been? What they were wearing? ]

[They were definitely wearing pants, but given what's visible here you can't distinguish height.]

[ Is the time of day different in the picture from when she took it? ]

[ Are any of the roof plants visible in the picture? If so...how are those looking? Any different? Wilted? ]

[There are no plants! Which is not to say that they simply aren't visible from that angle - from what you remember of the roof, you ought to be able to see at least the edges of some of the planters. But they aren't there.]

[ Anything else absent from the roof at this angle? Benches?

And you know— can she see any of the stars? ]

[No benches! It's hard to say about the stars - at this angle, there wouldn't be a lot of stars visible anyway.]

[ What about in any other pictures she'd taken on the roof? Not just ones that had this specific specter. Presumably the rest of them look normal? ]

[There are no shadowy figures in any of the other pictures! But a few of them do seem to be nighttime shots, and in some of those, you can recognize the stars. Laid out in the normal patterns you'd expect - you probably know a little star mapping, right?]

[ Yes. Yes she does. That is definitely something you learn in survivalist training from Peter Howland.

Where are we? ]

[It's hard to say exactly - these are constellations you'd be familiar with in your own night sky, but you wouldn't normally see them at this time of year. More around fall or winter.]

[ Okay. We don't have a location... But there's some kind of timeline. Either of what they look like right now, or...of when this took place. That's at least a little more information than she had before.

Is there anything else weird about the shadowy figure, or just...anything she'd notice in general? ]
