Week 7

[Last week, on It's Curtains...boy, that sure was a year-long week, huh?

But despite it all, you've gotten through it with less death than there might have been. Spongebob and Farrah both survived their ill-conceived plan; Maya, with the intervention of Janis and Hester, survived her triple murder. Since the failed execution, there has been no sign of the Wizard or of Hester. It seems like you may have gotten away with that cleanly!

When you wake up on Sunday, you remember everything. All the gaps, the missing pieces, entire chunks of time from back home - they're back and neatly fitted where they should be in your heads. Elle, Orpheus, and Eurydice have also been given graves alongside the others in the garden. These ones were filled in for you; after all, you were all pretty occupied over the weekend.

Other than that...it seems like some unusual posters have been put up around the school. Sounds like something's going to happen this week. You'd better prepare.]

(( As per usual, endgame will ICly take place on Wednesday, so get those last threads in! As this is the last week, all characters should be at their true canonpoint memory-wise. Feel free to continue submitting regains and...well, you can certainly try to visit Hester. No AC this week, but be sure to check in for endgame! ))

[Wonderful, you beautiful boundary-pushing moth.

At the base of the rock, even at just a glance, it looks like someone has ripped up some of the grass and dirt.]

[Yeah, that's definitely weird. Weird enough to risk getting dirt on the cheer uniform, even.

She crouches down in the dirt, to take a better look-- to try and gauge if maybe an animal did this, or maybe a person? Were they trying to get to something?]

[The ground is soft enough that it's easy to tell the marks in the dirt are human finger-sized/shaped. It looks like whoever it was way trying to get under the rock, though unsuccessfully.

It's also worth noting there are flecks of something yellow in the dirt and on the rock.]

[Looking closely, can she tell what the hell the yellow is?]

[It looks like it's flakes of nail polish.]

[Farrah... doesn't like that.

She can think of only a few of them that wear nail polish. And if someone this desperate hadn't been able to, Farrah might not be able to either. But she tries anyway.

She tries to get under the rock.]

[Unfortunately, it's a heavy rock. Probably part of why whoever had tried before couldn't get any farther than they did. But as Farrah digs she'll probably notice the upturned dirt doesn't seem...fresh, for lack of a better word? The pulled up grass has already wilted and dried up, like it was uprooted at least a few days ago.

But more importantly it'll take more than one person to move the rock.]

[Yeah, that... checks out a lot, with her theory.

And Farrah? Farrah hates that she's become a girl with a theory. Fuck that. Still--- she's gonna haul ass back to the school, dirty cheer uniform and all, to find help.]

Hey! Hey-- I need your help!

[mcfife]

[Hey, a distraction! If Farrah needs help, Angus must offer his aid.]

Farrah? Is everything alright? [He runs out of the teacher's lounge with the Gloryhammer in hand.]

[barberic]

[Dad's alarms start going off at the sound of one of his girls calling for help, and so he is here as well.]

Where have you been? You aren't hurt, are you?

[With concern, as he takes in how dirty she is.]

Oh, good-- you two, perfect. [She breathes a tiny sigh of relief, but she's unsure if she should shake her head at Angus' question to tell him everything's alright, or no at Benji's question, to tell him she's not hurt. So she just kindof. Bobbles her head around.]

I'm okay! I need help-- come on! [And she's zipping right out of there, back to the rock by the football field, before anyone can stop her.]

[mcfife]

[Angus spares a brief glance at Benjamin and runs off after her. He's not as fast as Farrah, considering that he's also carrying a heavy weapon, but if she's running towards the field, he's not going to lose sight of her.]

[barberic]

[Benjamin's bigger and less toned than Angus, but he's not carrying a fucking huge hammer, so he can at least keep pace with the prince.

When they get down there he doubles over, hands on his knees, panting.]

What- the rock?

[brokeforgood]

Yeah. Look-- someone was trying to get under there. That wasn't me. [Farrah's fine, what's up, dudes?]

Maya and I found the creepy mannequin in there a few weeks ago. Then... after that, this rock showed up, and I found H out here, the night--- [She sucks in a breath of air.] The night of... the storm. She was out here in the rain. Just like, ugly crying. Really hard.

[mcfife]

[Angus squats by the rock and rungs his hands over the dirt. Someone was digging here. Something important is buried.]

Did she say what happened?

[The next course of action is clear - move that rock and find out what's the big deal about this particular patch of dirty. He gestures at Mr. Barker and stands:] Farrah - [He hands the Gloryhammer over to her.]

[barberic]

[Benjamin sucks in a breath and lets it out heavily as he straightens back up with a decisive nod.]

Right.

[He goes to the other side of the boulder, stretching and flexing his arms a little before he squats down and digs his hands in to get a grip under the rock.]

[brokeforgood]

No. She couldn't-- [Farrah swallows, feeling guilty, now, for the way she had exploded on Hester at prom.] -- She couldn't remember.

[But there's no time to feel guilty, right now. Angus hands her his hammer-- holy shit. She has to rebalance herself, to hold the mighty thing.

There's a great desire for her to cause chaos with it. But. She focuses on the task at hand.]

[What is Hester? Everything is a mystery, but Angus hasn't been as close to her as the girls have. Regardless, he hooks his hands under one end of the stone and gets into position.]

One three, Mr. Barker. One...two...

Three! [And lifts!]

Mods like to jump back in?

[Benjamin sucks in a breath on three, and grunts as he puts his strength into lifting the stone as well.]

[The stone is heavy as all hell but between two grown ass men and their emotional support cheerleader, they succeed in moving it off the disturbed pile of earth Farrah found a few weeks ago. The roses seem disinterested in their impressive act of strength.]

[brokeforgood]

[Sorry, Angus' hammer-- she drops it. Then she scrambles forward, to look under where they've lifted the rock.

Please don't drop it on her, friends.]

[FARRAH NO THAT'S AN ANCIENT RELIC actually it's not the worst damage it's sustained but DON'T CRAWL UNDER HERE WE CAN'T MOVE THE ROCK AWAY THAT FAST.]

[oh god, Farrah, you feral moleperson.

Under the rock is still that vaguely person-shaped lump from before. If she tried she could probably drag it to avoid being crushed she likely could!]

[Cool, Cool, Cool---

Farrah tries to yank and drag it out.]

[barberic]

Wh- Farrah!

[Strained as his voice is by the effort of holding onto the big rock, he somehow manages to get the Dad Worry in there.

He's also going to start moving away to drop it a safe distance to the side.]
