Week 7

[Last week, on It's Curtains...boy, that sure was a year-long week, huh?

But despite it all, you've gotten through it with less death than there might have been. Spongebob and Farrah both survived their ill-conceived plan; Maya, with the intervention of Janis and Hester, survived her triple murder. Since the failed execution, there has been no sign of the Wizard or of Hester. It seems like you may have gotten away with that cleanly!

When you wake up on Sunday, you remember everything. All the gaps, the missing pieces, entire chunks of time from back home - they're back and neatly fitted where they should be in your heads. Elle, Orpheus, and Eurydice have also been given graves alongside the others in the garden. These ones were filled in for you; after all, you were all pretty occupied over the weekend.

Other than that...it seems like some unusual posters have been put up around the school. Sounds like something's going to happen this week. You'd better prepare.]

(( As per usual, endgame will ICly take place on Wednesday, so get those last threads in! As this is the last week, all characters should be at their true canonpoint memory-wise. Feel free to continue submitting regains and...well, you can certainly try to visit Hester. No AC this week, but be sure to check in for endgame! ))

[While everyone is getting high and relaxed before the epic battle (at least he hopes there will be one), Angus sits in the hallway outside the hotbox dungeons with Bruiser and six lizards with the Hammer of Glory by his side. Will something try to attack them? Probably not, but he's less stressed knowing that he's making sure they stay safe and don't to anything too stupid. Who knows what might happen on the happiest of nights?

But to pass the time, he has a few of Elle's law textbooks to look over. If he's going to rule a kingdom, he might as well learn a few tips from an alternate Earth. Unfortunately, university texts tend not to have the most riveting of narratives.

Most of that reading entails of Angus staring at the page and wondering how Elle ever retained all of this information.]

[ Peregrine doesn't really leave the photo dungeons much. This is...nice. This is relaxing. Maybe she's finally realized letting yourself have a moment of happiness isn't trying to pretend the bad things never happened.

But, at one point, she does stumble out (literally) to see if she can grab something, almost tripping over Angus's legs as she does. ]

Ang- Ango. Ohh hey. How long, long you been here?

[Angus drops the books(he apologizes to Elle's ghost for disrespecting her tomes) and reaches out for Peregrine. Thankfully, she's still standing.]

Almost an hour, but that's not important right now.

[He pulls his legs in. What a tripping hazard he's caused.] Everything good in there?

[ As Angus worries, Peregrine waves a hand. She's fine, she's fine! A laugh bubbles up as she catches herself. ]

Yeah! Yeah, everything's. Everything's great, I was just going to hit the bathroom.

[mcfife]

Go, go! [He waves a hand quickly and pulls Soup onto his lap.] I got something to give to you upon your return.

[comeandfindme]

...Me? Uhh... Okay.

[ Peregrine waves to Soup. She has no earthly idea what he could have for her... She'll hurry back for whatever surprise it is. ]

[They are stored in his backpack; he's ruined all of his gloves for this. When Peregrine returns, Angus holds a flower crown made from wildflowers from the woods - fireweed, bloodroot, daffodils, whichever reminded him of the wilds.]

For tomorrow.

[ Whatever she's expecting, it's not this. In the time it takes her to leave and return, Peregrine actually almost forgets Angus has anything for her? So she's extra surprised. ]

Oh... Oh, a flower crown! Oh wow, I've never had one of these before.

[mcfife]

Never?

[A child of the woods- no, she talks a lot about the winter.]
Then I am honored to have given you the first. It is no royal medal, but take it as a token of my respect.

[comeandfindme]

[ Angus... Angus, do you think Peregrine just lives in the woods...? Oh. This scans.

Peregrine appears delighted with the flower crown, and she reaches out to take it, but then she stops short. ]

I...do not trust my ability, right now...not to roll over onto it.

[mcfife]

[A chuckle-hum. Yeah, no flower crown is going to survive a room of giggle teenagers and a grown man.]

Then I will hold onto it until tomorrow. There's a few left I have yet to hand out. [Though...he pulls out another crown, this one with a few lillies weaved into it.] I would like it if you gave this one to Maya, today or tomorrow, you decide.

[He's not going to single her out, she's on their team, but...it's best that they avoid each other until many wounds have been healed.]

[comeandfindme]

[ Covered in lilies... If only Peregrine knew more about Japanese, because that would send her into a gigglefit. Still, she smiles at the sight of it. ]

Ohhh... Oh it's so pretty. [ She nods! ] Uh. I'll grab it...after I'm not...weed.

[mcfife]

Sure. [Sets it on top of the stack of books and picks up Soup.]

Are you hungry? Do you need any food? Are you feeling safe in there?

[comeandfindme]

[ She lightly laughs. ]

We brought food this time. Elsa made cookies. [ it sounds like she's in heaven ]

[mcfife]

I have to try them if any are left. [It's one positive from this murder school - all the home cooking and baking he gets to taste.] But really - if you need help, come and find me. You never know what comes up.

[It would suck if Wednesday had another big scare. Angus doesn't trust the universe like that.]

[As Angus is attempting to read, he will hear the most pathetically sad voice from behind the door.]

Anguuuuuuus...

[It’s probably Spongebob.]

[mcfife]

[He puts a lizard back on the ground, leaving Bruiser to sniff at it.]

What is it, Spongebob? [Replied in a long, almost sing-songy tone.]

[There is very long pause, like Spongebob is desperately trying to keep his thoughts from running away from him again.]

... I miss you.

[He sounds way too genuine about this.]

[mcfife]

[Sounds like someone needs a hug.]

Come out here. I have a lot of animals that can help. [He's pretty much babysitting them while their owners are high.]

Okay...

[He awkwardly crawls out of the room and flops next to Angus, lazily trying to reach for Gary.

He's trying, sorta.]

[mcfife]

[Lizards, doggies, rabbits, snails, you name it. Angus has them all, and they are ready to say hi to a new friend.

Angus does lift Gary and brings him to Spongebob's arms.] Sounds like you need a break from all that. Are you well?

[employeeoftheyear]

[Spongebob happily accepts Gary, and every other pet that comes this way, into his arms. He cuddles Gary for a minute before he remembers to speak.]

Yeah... I was jus' thinkin about how much I love you guys... an' how I don't wanna leave you guys when this is over...

[mcfife]

And what of your friends under the sea? They would want to see you again.

[But he's right. No matter what happens, they have their own lives to return to.]

I-I know. I miss my friends from home too, I just...

[He places Gary on his lap and pulls Angus into a hug with his good arm.]

I don’t wanna pick between my two families.

[mcfife]

Why not have both?

[How in the name of Hoots would he and Elle work out if she's a lawyer and he is a prince? There was going to be some compromise at some point or another.]
