[Last week, on It's Curtains...boy, that sure was a year-long week, huh?

But despite it all, you've gotten through it with less death than there might have been. Spongebob and Farrah both survived their ill-conceived plan; Maya, with the intervention of Janis and Hester, survived her triple murder. Since the failed execution, there has been no sign of the Wizard or of Hester. It seems like you may have gotten away with that cleanly!

When you wake up on Sunday, you remember everything. All the gaps, the missing pieces, entire chunks of time from back home - they're back and neatly fitted where they should be in your heads. Elle, Orpheus, and Eurydice have also been given graves alongside the others in the garden. These ones were filled in for you; after all, you were all pretty occupied over the weekend.

Other than that...it seems like some unusual posters have been put up around the school. Sounds like something's going to happen this week. You'd better prepare.]

[Angus is planning to get some new stuff that will help him feel better, but he's distracted by a familiar face...]

[ Peregrine nods, looking down. ]

She'd been saving things for weeks. Left lists of everything to leave for each of us, based on what she knows would be good for us. What we liked, what'd help keep our strength up.

[ looks at angus, looks at this cardboard man. ]

The What's New Pussycat guy?

Yes, I think he sang that. [He's more familiar with Delilah.] We got a lot of those in the opera house, what's he doing here now?

I just know the two songs from the John Mulaney bit.

[ she looks at him. ]

No idea. His best?

[He shakes his head.]

I guess I have more for my castle-- isn't that Anne's meal? [Looking at the cooked pheasant.]

You're going to have to be more specific, there are a lot of Annes.

[Spongebob crouches down besides Per. He's quiet, for a moment. He doesn't hate Maya, of course he wouldn't, but every time he thinks about Eurydice now he feels like a small part of him was missing. She was one of his first friends here, and she knew what it felt like to lose a home and helped him after that first motive.

.. And now he can't even tell her that his home is safe now.]

... What did she leave me?

[A part of him feels selfish, asking about himself like this, but it slips out before he can think.]

Anne of Cleves. She loves pheasant, she even got some from The Phantom's vending...machine...

[....mmm.....]

Those few days Jacob was missing, before we knew... It was the worst thing I'd ever gone through. The uncertainty...

[ Peregrine blinks and then shakes her head. ]

I'm— I'm sorry, we weren't- this is sad, I didn't mean for it to be sad.

There are. I would think that it's because The Wizard was behind all of this, but I haven't seen anything belonging to my friends there before.

[Looks at his massive bag of coins.]

Does this mean they are coming for us?

...Me? Uhh... Okay.

[ Peregrine waves to Soup. She has no earthly idea what he could have for her... She'll hurry back for whatever surprise it is. ]

No being sad! No... weed sad. You know. Let's talk about something else.

[ she thinks. ]

... What do you want to talk about?

[He looks up at him with teary eyes.]

You... you really mean it, Angus?

[Maya is currently, very diligently, cleaning off a new sword. The one that had skewered her leg sits beside her, but she's currently got her attention on one that's substantially longer. She almost doesn't look up at first, recognizing Janis's footsteps. The sound of her voice, though, does draw Maya's attention upward.

The sword clatters to the ground almost immediately.]

J-Janis?

I hope so. It... definitely feels like something is coming. Or... changing, or something.

[ She smiles, somewhat sweetly. ]

Thanks... Might have to find a new place to stay. Mom's— well...I hope it's still the case. Last I actually remember, she... She was talking about moving. To be closer to me, in college.

[ And there's what she was hoping for! She does a little turn to show it off. ]

Like the suit? Came out of the machine.

[ Winks at her. ]

[ ...Peregrine smiles, somewhat sadly, and stands up. ]

She left this.

[ She pulls him into a hug. ]

[Benjamin doesn't know what hotboxing is or entails.

But Farrah has dragged him to the photo dungeons, so he's here. And for a while, everything is Great. The smell takes a little getting used to, but the more he's in there the easier it gets.

Mostly he stays to himself, but anyone who comes over to sit with him is welcome.]

This may sound weird- [A word he's definitely learned from Farrah.] But will you let me play with your hair? Strictly professional- I'm a... [Buffering...] Hair artist man.

[But it's not all good vibes - after a good while of just, being totally content to vibe, his demeanor shifts a little, glancing around nervously. The bodies around him are lying too still. Why are they so still? He may reach out in concern, and give the person nearest to him a little shake.]

Sorry. Just... just scared for a second, sorry.

[But the worry continues to build, nonetheless. He feels too relaxed, heavy and sleepy. And everyone around him is... They've decided to trust him, knowing what he is, what he's done, and he can't protect them all. He can't protect anyone like this.

Others might catch him before he leaves, when he looks miserable and a little ill, like he's about to start crying any second. But when he does, when the fear that they aren't stacked in content little puppy piles gets bad enough that he can't convince himself any of them are still breathing, that's when he steps out of the room. To get fresh air. To get help. Something.

The fresh air outside the photo dungeons turns the smell of smoke lingering in his nostrils into burning flesh. He gags a little, where he stands, and barely makes it down the hall to the boys' room before he loses everything he'd managed to eat that day.]

The time will come to rise.

[Could it really be the end? Has the SQUIP been able to reach out to their friends? He can't tell, but as he puts in his first batch of coins, he hopes that there are more signs that they aren't alone anymore. The first batch of regains are mostly interesting. Goggles and jackets and scarves are useful. There's drinks and snacks, but nothing interesting until the tumbler falls out.]

This is Sigyn's. [His first friend there, the first killer. The one who helped him return to his old self. The woman who believed in him.] This cannot be a coincidence, we may-

[And then an actual engagement ring falls out.]

... Yeah. Something's different this week, for sure. Not that I could say what, but...

Oh shit.

[Benjamin is in the garden with his guitar when Angus comes down on a mission, and he stops fiddling with the guitar perched on his knee to watch.]

Do you need a basket? I've brought one, but I can just as easily carry my things back up.
